About Leveset 100 Injection 5 ml

Leveset 100 Injection 5 ml is an anti-convulsant medicine used in the treatment of epilepsy. Epilepsy is a serious condition in which patients get more than two unprovoked seizures (fits/convulsions). Leveset 100 Injection 5 ml is used in the treatment of Partial Onset Seizures (a condition affecting a single area of the brain, mainly the temporal lobes), Myoclonic Seizures (sudden increase in the muscle tone due to shock-like jerks) in patients with Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy, Primary Generalized Tonic-Clonic Seizures.

Leveset 100 Injection 5 ml contains Levetiracetam as an active ingredient. It works by slowing down the abnormal signals that the brain gives, leading to episodes of seizures. It helps by suppressing specific brain sites responsible for abnormal activity and prevents the spread of electrical signals that cause seizures.

Leveset 100 Injection 5 ml is a parenteral medicine and will be administered intravenously as a 15-minute infusion by a healthcare professional. Hence, do not self-administer. This medicine may cause certain side effects such as drowsiness, disturbed sleep, light-headedness, dizziness, sleepiness, general weakness, and injection site reactions. Most of these side effects of Leveset 100 Injection 5 ml do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, please reach out to your doctor.

Leveset 100 Injection 5 ml is not recommended for use if allergic to it. Hence inform your doctor if you have any conditions like severe liver/kidney disease, lung disease and Myasthenia gravis (muscle weakness). Pregnant and breastfeeding mothers should inform the doctor before receiving Leveset 100 Injection 5 ml. Avoid driving vehicles or operating machines which require concentration as Leveset 100 Injection 5 ml may cause dizziness. Abrupt stopping can result in withdrawal symptoms like anxiety, increased heart rate, tremors, or general unwell feelings. Leveset 100 Injection 5 ml is not recommended for use in children below 16 years of age.
