About Lintab-5 Tablet 15's

Lintab-5 Tablet 15's is an anti-diabetic medication primarily used to treat type 2 diabetes in adults along with diet and lifestyle changes. It is used alone or in combination with other drugs to lower blood sugar levels. People with type 2 diabetes either do not produce enough insulin, or the insulin produced cannot perform its function in the body (insulin resistance). Middle-aged or older individuals are most likely to suffer from type 2 diabetes, also known as adult-onset diabetes.

Lintab-5 Tablet 15's contains Linagliptin, which belongs to the class of dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitors used Lintab-5 Tablet 15's is prescribed for the condition of type 2 diabetes when diet and exercise alone cannot control their blood sugar levels. It works by blocking the action of DPP-4 (an enzyme that destroys the hormone 'Incretin'). The enzyme 'Incretins' helps produce more insulin only when required and reduces the liver's blood sugar level when not needed. Lintab-5 Tablet 15's should not be used in patients with type 1 diabetes and for the treatment of diabetic ketoacidosis.

Take Lintab-5 Tablet 15's as prescribed. However, it should be taken at the same time of the day each time for best results. Your doctor will recommend you how often you take Lintab-5 Tablet 15's based on your medical condition. The most common side effects of Lintab-5 Tablet 15's are hypoglycaemia (low blood glucose levels), upper respiratory tract infection, nasopharyngitis (infection of nose and throat with common cold), and headache.

Lintab-5 Tablet 15's should not be stopped even if you feel better, without consulting your doctor as sugar level keeps changing. If you stop taking Lintab-5 Tablet 15's abruptly, it may increase your sugar levels, which could further increase the risk of eyesight loss (retinopathy), kidney (nephropathy) and nerve damage (neuropathy). Lintab-5 Tablet 15's should not be taken if you have severe kidney or liver disease. Please inform your doctor if you have any heart disease is or planning to get pregnant or breastfeeding.

Diabetes (Type 2): It is a condition where the body cannot make sufficient insulin, or the insulin that it makes doesn't work properly or is utilized by our body. This can cause high blood sugar levels (hyperglycemia). Type 2 diabetes symptoms include increased thirst, frequent urination at night, slow wound healing, increased hunger, fatigue, and blurred vision. There may be weight gain in some cases, while in rare cases, weight loss may be observed. The complication of type 2 diabetes also includes neuropathy (nerve problems), nephropathy (kidney problems), and retinopathy (damaged retina of eyes or blindness), loss of limbs, sexual dysfunction, and increase the chance of heart attack or stroke.
