About Lodoz 2.5 Tablet

Lodoz 2.5 Tablet is a combination of blood pressure-lowering medicine primarily used to treat high blood pressure. High blood pressure is a condition in which the force of the blood against the artery walls is too high, leading to hypertension. Lodoz 2.5 Tablet aids in lowering blood pressure to normal, thereby helping in reducing the risk of having a stroke, heart attack, other heart problems, or kidney problems in the future.

Lodoz 2.5 Tablet contains Bisoprolol fumarate (beta-blocker) and Hydrochlorothiazide (diuretics or water pills). Bisoprolol fumarate relaxes the blood vessels by blocking the action of certain natural substances in the body. It helps slow down the heart rate, making it easier to pump blood around the body. Hydrochlorothiazide lowers blood pressure by removing extra water/fluid and certain electrolyte overload from the body.

Take Lodoz 2.5 Tablet as prescribed by your doctor. Depending on your medical condition, you are advised to take Lodoz 2.5 Tablet for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you. In some cases, Lodoz 2.5 Tablet may cause side effects such as dizziness, weakness, diarrhoea, nausea, headache, and indigestion. Most of these side effects of Lodoz 2.5 Tablet do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor.

Before starting Lodoz 2.5 Tablet , please inform your doctor if you have an allergy, heart disease, asthma, diabetes, thyroid, glaucoma, kidney/liver disease, gout or if you cannot pass urine. • When standing up, do so slowly and carefully to avoid sudden dizziness.
  • Avoid making sudden movements, such as turning or bending quickly, which can exacerbate dizziness.
  • Drink plenty of water throughout the day to stay hydrated and help alleviate dizziness symptoms.
  • If you're feeling dizzy, sit or lie down and rest until the dizziness passes.
  • Track when dizziness occurs and any factors that may trigger it, and share this information with your doctor to help manage symptoms.
Here are the precise steps to cope with diarrhoea caused by medication usage:
  • Inform Your Doctor: Notify your doctor immediately about your diarrhoea symptoms. This allows them to adjust your medication or provide guidance on managing side effects.
  • Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of fluids to replace lost water and electrolytes. Choose water, clear broth, and electrolyte-rich drinks. Avoid carbonated or caffeinated beverages to effectively rehydrate your body.
  • Follow a Bland Diet: Eat easy-to-digest foods to help firm up your stool and settle your stomach. Try incorporating bananas, rice, applesauce, toast, plain crackers, and boiled vegetables into your diet.
  • Avoid Trigger Foods: Steer clear of foods that can worsen diarrhoea, such as spicy, fatty, or greasy foods, high-fibre foods, and dairy products (especially if you're lactose intolerant).

  • Wear compression garments like stockings, sleeves, or gloves to apply pressure and help stop fluid from building up, especially after the swelling goes down.
  • Move around and do exercises to help the fluid circulate, especially in swollen limbs. Ask your doctor for specific exercises.
  • Raise the swollen area above your heart level several times a day, even while sleeping, to help reduce swelling.
  • Gently massage the swollen area with firm but not painful pressure.
  • Keep the swollen area clean and moisturized to prevent injury and infection.
  • Reduce salt intake to help prevent fluid from building up and worsening the swelling, as advised by a doctor.
  • If the swelling does not get better after a few days of home treatment or worsens, consult your doctor right away.

  • Avoid certain foods that can trigger nausea, such as fatty, greasy, spicy, and smelly foods.
  • Drink plenty of fluids, such as water, clear broth, or electrolyte-rich beverages like coconut water or sports drinks.
  • Use ginger (tea, ale, or candies) to help relieve nausea.
  • Get adequate rest and also avoid strenuous activities that can worsen nausea.
  • Talk to your doctor about taking anti-nausea medication if your nausea is severe.

Disease/Condition Glossary

Hypertension: Hypertension is a condition in which the blood exerts increased pressure on the walls of blood vessels leading to hypertension. This condition can lead to hardened arteries (blood vessels) and decreased blood and oxygen flow to the heart. Blood pressure is the measurement of the heart's force to pump blood to all body parts. Raised blood pressure can cause chest pain (angina) and heart attack (when the blood supply to the heart is blocked). High blood pressure also causes brain damage (stroke) and kidney failure.
