Bacterial infections are caused due to the multiplication of harmful bacteria inside or on the body. Macpod 100 mg Syrup does not work against infections caused by the virus, including cold and flu.

Macpod 100 mg Syrup contains 'Cefpodoxime', which is a broad-spectrum antibiotic effective against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Macpod 100 mg Syrup works by preventing the formation of bacterial cell covering (cell wall), which is necessary for their survival. Thereby, Macpod 100 mg Syrup kills the bacteria and helps in treating bacterial infections.

In some cases, Macpod 100 mg Syrup may cause side effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea (watery or loose stool), and abdominal pain. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to the doctor if the side effects persist or worsen.

Do not give Macpod 100 mg Syrup to the child if they are allergic to any of its components. Inform the doctor if your child is allergic to penicillin antibiotics or has kidney problems. • Antibiotics can alter the useful bacteria in the stomach, which help in digestion. Therefore, you are advised to give the child foods rich in probiotics.
• Include fibre-rich food like whole grains, beans, lentils, berries, broccoli, peas and bananas in their diet.
