Maget MB Injection 2 ml is a mineral supplement, and an anticonvulsant primarily used to prevent and control seizures (fits) in preeclampsia and eclampsia (serious complications in pregnancy that occur due to high blood pressure). Maget MB Injection 2 ml is also used to treat hypomagnesaemia, a condition characterized by abnormally low magnesium levels in the blood.

Maget MB Injection 2 ml contains Magnesium sulfate. It is a mineral supplement and an electrolyte. It prevents and controls seizures by blocking neuromuscular transmission, the transfer of nerve impulses to the heart. It further has a depressant effect on the central nervous system and acts peripherally to cause vasodilation.

Maget MB Injection 2 ml will be administered by a healthcare professional. It causes some side effects, although not everybody gets them. Side effects include dizziness, drowsiness, low blood pressure, flushing, and sweating. Most of these effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, if any of these side effects persist or worsen, please seek medical advice.

Before receiving Maget MB Injection 2 ml, let your doctor know if you have kidney/liver/heart diseases, dehydration, stomach/gastrointestinal disorders, myasthenia gravis (muscle weakness) and sensitivities. Inform your doctor if you are a pregnant and breastfeeding woman before taking Maget MB Injection 2 ml. The safety and efficacy of this medicine have not been established in children younger than twelve years of age.

Inform your doctor if you have a medical history of kidney/liver/heart diseases, dehydration, stomach/gastrointestinal disorders, alcohol dependence, and myasthenia gravis (muscle weakness) before starting Maget MB Injection 2 ml. Let your doctor know if you are a pregnant or breastfeeding woman before taking Maget MB Injection 2 ml. Avoid alcohol consumption while undergoing treatment with Maget MB Injection 2 ml as it might interact and increase the occurrence of side effects. Maget MB Injection 2 ml can cause dizziness and drowsiness affecting your ability to drive; hence drive only when you are alert and focused. Maget MB Injection 2 ml is not recommended in children younger than 12 years of age.

• Meditation, walking, involving in a task, and smelling a strong odour are a few self-control methods to prevent seizures.
• Rest properly, and avoid stress by doing meditation or yoga.
• Manage stress, eat healthily, drink plenty of water, exercise regularly, and get plenty of sleep.
• Include Vitamin D-rich foods like fatty fish, mackerel, tuna, dairy products, orange juice, soy milk, cereals, beef liver, cheese, and egg yolks in your diet.
• Also, it is advised to take folic acid and vitamin K-rich foods and supplements during pregnancy.

• Your doctor may advise you to get regular blood tests to test the amount of magnesium in your blood.
• Monitor your blood pressure and sugar levels regularly while using Maget MB Injection 2 ml.
• Your blood calcium levels need to be regularly monitored whilst taking Magnesium sulfate injection.

Pre-eclampsia: It is a pregnancy complication caused in pregnancy due to high blood pressure. Symptoms include protein in the urine, swelling of the hands and face, shortness of breath, and abdominal pain. 

Eclampsia: It is a complication that is characterized by convulsions/seizures during a woman's pregnancy or shortly after giving birth. Symptoms include upper-right abdominal pain, severe headache and vision and mental status changes.

Fits/Seizure: It is characterized as a sudden and uncontrollable electrical disturbance in the brain. Symptoms include uncontrolled jerking movements of the arms and legs, loss of consciousness, and temporary confusion.

Hypomagnesaemia: It is a condition that occurs when a person has abnormally low levels of magnesium. This occurs when a person does not get enough magnesium in their diet, or he/she is unable to absorb magnesium properly. Symptoms include nausea, vomiting, weakness, personality changes, tremor, fatigue, seizures, irregular heartbeat, and high blood pressure.
