MANOCALM FORTE 50 MG TABLET belongs to a group of medications called ‘antipsychotics’. It is used in the treatment of schizophrenia or psychosis. Schizophrenia is characterized by hallucinations symptoms (seeing or hearing things that are not real) and delusions (wrong beliefs). Manic episodes of excitement or depression characterize bipolar disorder. MANOCALM FORTE 50 MG TABLET prevents the occurrence of these symptoms. 

MANOCALM FORTE 50 MG TABLET composed of three medications namely Chlorpromazine, Trifluoperazine,  and Trihexyphenidyl. Chlorpromazine is a typical antipsychotic. It works by blocking the action of dopamine, a chemical messenger in the brain that affects thoughts and mood. Trihexyphenidyl is an anticholinergic that works on the nervous system and corrects some of the side effects occurring during antipsychotic treatment. Trifluoperazine is a typical antipsychotic. It works by blocking the action of dopamine, a chemical messenger in the brain that affects thoughts and mood.

Take MANOCALM FORTE 50 MG TABLET as prescribed by your doctor. You are advised to take MANOCALM FORTE 50 MG TABLET as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side effects such as nausea, constipation, sedation, dryness in the mouth, weight gain, orthostatic hypotension (sudden lowering of blood pressure on standing), urinary retention, the Increased prolactin level in blood, dizziness, blurred vision, nervousness. Most of these side effects of MANOCALM FORTE 50 MG TABLET do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if these side effects persist longer, please consult your doctor.

Do not take MANOCALM FORTE 50 MG TABLET if you are allergic to MANOCALM FORTE 50 MG TABLET or any other ingredients present in it. Drug-food interactions: MANOCALM FORTE 50 MG TABLET may interact with grapefruit and alcohol and increase the risk of side-effects.

Drug-disease interactions: MANOCALM FORTE 50 MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients with heart problems such as QT prolongation (heart rhythm problem), acute alcohol abuse, central nervous system (CNS) depression, dementia, stroke, seizures, kidney diseases, diabetes, tardive dyskinesia, neuroleptic malignant syndrome, and liver problems.

  • Stay optimistic. It will take time for your symptoms to improve after you start bipolar therapy, but you will feel relaxed knowing that you will get better and that the worst is most definitely behind you.
  • A person should take a healthy diet that includes lots of fruits and vegetables, lean meats, skinless poultry, nuts, fish, whole grains, plant-based oils and low-fat dairy products will help to keep a person in good health and avoid chances of nausea and vomiting.
  • One should avoid taking greasy or oily foods as this food triggers nausea and vomit.
  • Eat cool foods instead of hot and spicy foods.
  • Include clear broths, non-fat yoghurt, fruit juice, sherbet and sports drinks for fluid make up which has got lost due to vomiting.
