About Mebiz SR Capsule

Mebiz SR Capsule is a class of medicines called 'antispasmodic' (spasm and cramps reliever) agent primarily used to treat inflammatory bowel syndrome (IBS), stomach pain due to spasms, cramps, and bloating. Inflammatory bowel syndrome is an umbrella term describing complications that involve chronic inflammation of your digestive tract. Besides this, abdominal spasms are acute condition in which the abdominal muscles (abs), intestine, and stomach contract severely.

Mebiz SR Capsule contains ‘Mebeverine’ that works by blocking calcium channels and muscarinic receptors on the smooth muscle, which cause muscle contraction and pain sensation, thereby stopping sudden muscle contractions (spasms) and reducing abdominal pain caused due by spasms, cramps, and gas formation, bloating, and discomfort.

You are advised to take Mebiz SR Capsule for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending on your medical conditions. In some cases, you may experience skin rash. Most of the side effects of Mebiz SR Capsule do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor. Please inform your doctor immediately if you experience difficulty in breathing, or swelling of the face, neck, lips, tongue, or throat.

If you are known to be allergic to Mebiz SR Capsule or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, it is advised to consult a doctor before using Mebiz SR Capsule . Mebiz SR Capsule is not recommended for children and adolescents below 18 years of age. Inform your doctor if you have porphyria (an enzyme deficiency in blood), heart, kidney, or liver problems, and severe constipation.  This medicine contains lactose and sucrose, so inform your doctor if you have an intolerance to any sugars. Let your doctor know if you use any prescription and non-prescription medications you are taking, including vitamins, before starting Mebiz SR Capsule .

Directions for Use

Take Mebiz SR Capsule 20-30minutes prior to food. Swallow Mebiz SR Capsule as a whole with a glass of water; do not chew or crush it. Depending on your medical condition, your doctor will decide how long you need to take Mebiz SR Capsule .

Mebiz SR Capsule belongs to a group of medicines called anti-spasmodic agents. Mebiz SR Capsule is used to reduce and relieve irritable bowel syndrome and abdominal spasmodic pain. Side effects of Mebiz SR Capsule
  • Apply a cold compress to the affected area for 10 to 15 minutes multiple times a day.
  • Elevate your head while resting or sleeping to reduce fluid accumulation.
  • Drink lots of water to eliminate excess fluids.
  • Limit salty foods as they can cause water retention.
  • To stimulate lymphatic drainage, gently massage the swollen area.
  • Skin rash caused by allergies is due to irritants or allergens. Therefore, avoid contact with such irritants.
  • Consult your doctor for proper medication and apply an anti-itch medication. Follow the schedule and use the medication whenever needed.
  • Protect your skin from extreme heat and try to apply wet compresses.
  • Soak in the cool bath, which gives a soothing impact to the affected area.
  • Applying a cold compress can soothe the inflamed portion and reduce itching.
  • Wear wraparound to protect the area from wind, dust, and pollen.
  • Gently wash the itchy area using mild soap and lukewarm water to wash away dirt and bacteria.
  • Avoid touching the affected part to prevent inflammation.
  • See a doctor again if changes in your affected area are observed.

Do not take Mebiz SR Capsule if you are allergic to ‘Mebeverine’ or any other contents present in it. If you have had a history of acute porphyria (an enzyme deficiency in blood), heart disease, kidney disease, liver problems, and severe constipation, consult your doctor before taking Mebiz SR Capsule .  Let your doctor know if you use any prescription and non-prescription medications you are taking, including vitamins, and herbal drugs before starting Mebiz SR Capsule . This medicine contains lactose, so inform your doctor if you have an intolerance to any sugars. Mebiz SR Capsule also contains propylene glycol, which may cause alcohol-like symptoms, and the methyl parahydroxybenzoate which may cause delayed allergic reactions, mainly affecting the skin, inform your doctor immediately if you experience any allergic symptoms. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, it is advised to consult a doctor before using Mebiz SR Capsule . Mebiz SR Capsule is not recommended for children and adolescents below 18 years of age.
