About Megazolid 100 mg Suspension

Megazolid 100 mg Suspension is an antibiotic medicine used to treat bacterial infections in children. It is used in treating skin, throat, ear, bones, urinary tract infections, and lung infections caused by bacteria. A bacterial infection occurs when harmful bacteria enter and grow in the body. This bacteria can infect any part of the body and multiply very quickly. This medicine is also used in the treatment of resistant tubercular infections. Megazolid 100 mg Suspension effectively treats infections caused by bacteria only and does not treat viral infections like flu or a common cold.

Megazolid 100 mg Suspension contains Linezolid belonging to the oxazolidinones class of drugs. It works by inhibiting the formation of the bacterial cell wall (a protective covering) and causing damage to the bacterial cell wall. This eventually leads to the death of the bacterial cell and thus prevents the growth of bacterial infections.

Megazolid 100 mg Suspension may cause certain side effects, such as indigestion, diarrhea, nausea, metallic taste, vomiting, headache, and stomach pain. These side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your pediatrician. Megazolid 100 mg Suspension should be given to your child as advised by your doctor. Do not give the child more than the prescribed dose of Megazolid 100 mg Suspension. Generally, the dose of the medicine will be decided by your pediatrician depending upon the type and severity of the infection.

Megazolid 100 mg Suspension is intended for pediatric use only. Avoid giving Megazolid 100 mg Suspension to your child if she/he is allergic to antibiotics. Keep your doctor informed about your child’s health condition, medications, and medical history to rule out any side effects/interactions. Before administration, inform your child’s doctor if your child has liver or kidney disease.
