About Montecip LC Junior Syrup

Montecip LC Junior Syrup is an antihistamine/antiallergic medicine used in the treatment of allergies. It helps provide relief from various allergic reactions such as cold, runny nose, sneezing, etc. in children. An allergic reaction is a response that occurs when the foreign particles enter the body. This allergic reaction may vary from person to person.

Montecip LC Junior Syrup is an anti-allergic medicine containing Montelukast and Levocetirizine. Montelukast is a leukotriene antagonist, which blocks a chemical messenger (leukotriene) and reduces inflammation and swelling in the nose. Levocetirizine works by blocking the effects of a chemical messenger called ‘histamine. This chemical messenger is naturally involved in allergic reactions. Together, this medicine helps to relieve discomfort and unpleasant symptoms, like blocked/runny/itchy nose, and red/watery eyes that occur due to allergic conditions.

Montecip LC Junior Syrup may cause certain side effects in your child such as abdominal pain, headache, cold-like nose symptoms (in children), or diarrhoea (in children). These side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your paediatrician. Montecip LC Junior Syrup should be taken as advised by your doctor. Do not give more than the prescribed dose of Montecip LC Junior Syrup to the child. Montecip LC Junior Syrup can be given with or without food. The dose of the medicine will be decided by your pediatrician depending upon the type and severity of the infection.

Montecip LC Junior Syrup is intended for paediatric use only. Avoid giving Montecip LC Junior Syrup to your child if she/he is allergic to any of the components present in the formulation. Keep your doctor informed about your child’s health condition including his current medications and medical history to rule out any side effects/interactions. Before administration, inform your child’s doctor about liver and kidney disease.
