Moxicon Eye Ointment 5 gm belongs to the class of 'antibiotics', primarily used to treat bacterial eye infections, such as bacterial conjunctivitis. A bacterial eye infection occurs when bacteria invade any part of the eyeball or its surrounding tissues, including the cornea (clear front surface of the eye) and the conjunctiva (thin membrane lining the outer eye and inner eyelids). 

Moxicon Eye Ointment 5 gm contains Moxifloxacin, which acts as a bactericidal agent that kills bacteria causing a wide range of infections. It works by stopping a bacteria's ability to copy their genetic material (DNA) which stops them from reproducing and ultimately kills bacteria.

Use Moxicon Eye Ointment 5 gm in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. In some cases, you may experience common side effects like dry eyes, watery eyes, eye pain or discomfort, blurred vision, redness, itching and irritation of the eyes.
