About Moza MPS Tablet 10's

Moza MPS Tablet 10's belongs to a class of medication called gastrointestinal agents used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), irritable bowel syndrome, intestinal gas and indigestion. Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) occurs when stomach acid frequently flows back into the food pipe (oesophagus). Irritable bowel syndrome is a common disease that affects the large intestine. IBS is also known as spastic colon, irritable colon, spastic colitis, and mucous colitis. An irritable bowel syndrome is a group of intestinal symptoms that occur together.

Moza MPS Tablet 10's is a combination of two drugs, namely: Mosapride (gastroprokinetic agent) and Methylpolysiloxane (antifoaming agent). Mosapride increases the movement of the food pipe (oesophagus), small intestine and stomach, thereby enhancing bowel movement, and the digestive tract gets emptied from the food in a shorter time. Thereby, it helps in preventing acid reflux and provides relief from hyperacidity and heartburn. Methylpolysiloxane is an antifoaming agent that combines smaller gas bubbles that may get trapped among stomach contents into larger bubbles that are easily expelled by passing wind or burping.  Thereby, it helps in releasing gas.

Take Moza MPS Tablet 10's as prescribed by your doctor. You are advised to take Moza MPS Tablet 10's for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, headache, dizziness, stomach pain, constipation or insomnia (difficulty in falling or staying asleep). Most of these side effects of Moza MPS Tablet 10's do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

If you are known to be allergic to Moza MPS Tablet 10's or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Moza MPS Tablet 10's should not be given to children until and unless prescribed by a doctor. Avoid taking Moza MPS Tablet 10's and consult a doctor if you are pregnant. Moza MPS Tablet 10's is not recommended for elderly patients. If you have bleeding ulcers in the stomach, inform your doctor before taking Moza MPS Tablet 10's. Drive only if you are alert as Moza MPS Tablet 10's may cause drowsiness, dizziness or low blood pressure. Avoid alcohol consumption as it may increase drowsiness or other adverse effects.

Disease/Condition Glossary

Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD): The stomach is usually protected from the acid by a mucous layer. In some cases, due to excess acid production, the mucous layer gets irritated or eroded, which leads to complications like GERD, hyperacidity, peptic ulcers, and heartburn. Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) occurs when stomach acid frequently flows back into the food pipe (esophagus). This backflow (acid reflux) irritates the food pipe and causes heartburn. Symptoms include heartburn, sour or bitter taste in the mouth, and difficulty swallowing.

Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS): It is a common disease that affects the large intestine. IBS is also known as spastic colon, irritable colon, spastic colitis, and mucous colitis. An irritable bowel syndrome is a group of intestinal symptoms that occur together. The exact cause is unknown, but common causes of IBS are acidity, stress, carbonated foods and beverages, irregular hormone levels, certain food, and medications. Symptoms include abdominal pain, cramps, bloating, gas, constipation, and/or diarrhea.
