NAMCOLD TABLET

NAMCOLD TABLET is a combination of respiratory medication used to treat common cold symptoms, such as sneezing, runny nose, nasal and sinus congestion, stuffy nose, or watery eyes. The common cold is a respiratory illness that affects the nose and throat and is caused by viruses known as 'rhinoviruses'. The virus enters the body through the nose, mouth, or eyes and spreads easily through air droplets when a sick person sneezes, coughs, or talks.

NAMCOLD TABLET consists of three medicines, namely: Nimesulide (pain killer), Pseudoephedrine (decongestant), and Cetirizine (anti-allergic). Nimesulide works by blocking the effect of a chemical known as prostaglandin (PGs) that is responsible for pain, fever, and inflammation (swelling and redness) in our body. Pseudoephedrine belongs to the class of decongestant drugs. It works by reducing the swelling of blood vessels in your nose, this helps mucus and airflow more freely in the cavities in your nose (sinuses), helping you breathe more easily. Cetirizine is an antihistamine (anti-allergic) drug that reduces the effects of histamine, a chemical substance that causes allergies like runny nose and skin rash. Together, it relieves the common cold symptoms.

Take NAMCOLD TABLET as prescribed by your doctor. You are advised to take NAMCOLD TABLET for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending on your medical conditions. You may experience nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dryness in the mouth, fatigue, insomnia (difficulty in sleeping), sleepiness, nervousness, dizziness, restlessness, headache, and increased liver enzymes. Most of these side effects of NAMCOLD TABLET do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor.

Let your doctor know if you have any allergic reactions to medicines. It is mandatory to inform your doctor if you have heart, liver, kidney diseases, gastrointestinal disorders, stomach ulcers, prostate enlargement, urinary retention, diabetes, and eye disorders like cataracts and glaucoma before taking NAMCOLD TABLET. NAMCOLD TABLET contains Nimesulide which causes an increased chance of problems with joints and tissues around joints in children under 18 years. So, let your doctor know if your children have any joint problems during or after treatment with NAMCOLD TABLET. You get severe sunburn or blisters on your skin as an intake of NAMCOLD TABLET may increase the sensitivity of the skin. Please check with your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Avoid alcohol while taking NAMCOLD TABLET, since it can worsen the side effects like dizziness and sleepiness.

• Know your triggers like allergens, such as pollen, dust, and food items that make your asthma and other respiratory diseases severe.
• Quit smoking and avoid passive smoking. Smoking may reduce the effectiveness of the medicine.
• Drink warm fluids while you take NAMCOLD TABLET to help loosen congestion and lubricate the throat.
• Eat a healthy diet and exercise regularly to strengthen your breathing muscles and boost your immune system.
• Learning breathing exercises will help you move more air in and out of your lungs.
• Avoid alcohol consumption with NAMCOLD TABLET as it may cause tiredness, drowsiness, or lack of concentration.

• Regularly monitor your blood sugar levels while using NAMCOLD TABLET since decongestants like Pseudoephedrine can increase blood glucose levels.
• Consult your diabetologist if you have diabetes before using NAMCOLD TABLET so that your insulin or other diabetic medication can be adjusted accordingly to maintain your blood sugar levels.

Common cold: The common cold is an infection caused by viruses, mainly 'rhinovirus' affecting your nose and throat (upper respiratory tract). Children younger than six years of age are at the most significant risk of colds, but healthy adults can also be affected to have 2-3 colds annually. In most cases, cold symptoms are recovered within a week or ten days.
