About Nano 0.5mg Eye Drop 5 ml

Nano 0.5mg Eye Drop 5 ml belongs to the class of medicines called immunosuppressants used in the treatment of severe keratitis (inflammation of the cornea) in adults. Also, it is used to treat dry eyes in patients whose condition has not been improved with artificial tears. A dry eye is a common condition that occurs when tears are unable to provide sufficient moisture. 

Nano 0.5mg Eye Drop 5 ml contains Cyclosporine, which works by increasing tear production and decreasing inflammation (swelling) in the eye. 

Use Nano 0.5mg Eye Drop 5 ml as prescribed by your doctor. Nano 0.5mg Eye Drop 5 ml is only for use in eyes. You are advised to use Nano 0.5mg Eye Drop 5 ml for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience eye irritation, eye pain, watery eyes, itching in the eye, redness or swelling of the eyelid, and blurred vision using Nano 0.5mg Eye Drop 5 ml. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

Dry eyes and severe keratitis

Directions for Use

Lie down and tilt your head backwards. Pull your lower eyelid gently with your index finger to form a pocket. Instil the number of drops as advised by the doctor into the pocket of the lower eyelid. Close your eyes for 1-2 minutes. Do not touch the tip of the container to the eye, eyelids or surrounding areas as it may contaminate Nano 0.5mg Eye Drop 5 ml. Nano 0.5mg Eye Drop 5 ml is for external use only. Do not inject Nano 0.5mg Eye Drop 5 ml.

How does the drug interact with Nano 0.5mg Eye Drop 5 ml:
Coadministration of pitavastatin with Nano 0.5mg Eye Drop 5 ml may significantly increase the blood levels of pitavastatin which can increase the risk of side effects such as liver problems and rhabdomyolysis(involves the breakdown of skeletal muscle tissue).

How to manage the interaction:
Taking Pitavastatin with Nano 0.5mg Eye Drop 5 ml is not recommended, as it can possibly result in an interaction, it can be taken if your doctor has advised it.
