Napigard Cream 15 gm contains benzalkonium, lidocaine, and zinc oxide. Benzalkonium is used as an antiseptic, disinfectant, and antimicrobial preservative. It has antimicrobial properties against bacteria, fungi, and viruses. Benzalkonium prevents skin infections and is used to clean wounds. Lidocaine belongs to the class of local anaesthetics known as 'numbing medication.' It helps reduce pain by blocking the nerve signals to the brain. It causes temporary numbness/loss of feeling in the skin and mucous membranes at the application site. Zinc oxide is a mild antiseptic and astringent (cleanses skin and tightens pores). It is a mineral used to treat minor burns, diaper rash, severely chapped skin, and other minor skin irritations. It works by forming a barrier on the skin to protect it from moisture and irritants.
