About Neosporin H Ear Drops 5ml

Neosporin H Ear Drops 5ml belongs to two classes of medications: antibiotics and steroids. It is primarily used to treat bacterial ear infections. An ear infection occurs when bacteria invade the middle or outer ear, causing pain and inflammation. On the other hand, Neosporin H Ear Drops 5ml can also use to treat ear infections as a complication after ear surgery (e.g., mastoidectomy, fenestration).

Neosporin H Ear Drops 5ml is a combination medicine that contains Neomycin, Polymyxin B and Hydrocortisone. Neomycin and polymyxin B belong to the class of medicines known as antibiotics; they work by killing bacteria or preventing their growth. Hydrocortisone is a steroid medicine used to relieve the redness, itching, and swelling caused by ear infections. Together Neosporin H Ear Drops 5ml reduces redness, irritation, and discomfort of certain ear problems.

Neosporin H Ear Drops 5ml is only for otic (ear) use. Depending on your medical condition, you are advised to use Neosporin H Ear Drops 5ml for as long as your doctor prescribes it. In some cases, you may experience common side effects, such as a burning sensation, irritation, itching and redness at the application site. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Inform your doctor if you are allergic to any of the ingredients in the Neosporin H Ear Drops 5ml. Before using Neosporin H Ear Drops 5ml, notify your doctor if you have hearing problems (ototoxicity), a perforated eardrum or chronic otitis media. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Neosporin H Ear Drops 5ml should be used in children only when advised by a doctor. Before taking Neosporin H Ear Drops 5ml, inform your doctor about your medical history and other medications you are currently taking to rule out any potential negative effects and interactions.

Uses of Neosporin H Ear Drops 5ml

Bacterial ear infections

Directions for Use

Lie down with the affected ear facing upwards. Hold the dropper over the ear and instil the prescribed number of drops. Continue to lie on your side for two minutes to allow the drops to reach the base of the ear canal. Repeat the procedure for the other ear if needed. Avoid contamination by not touching the dropper to the ear or surrounding areas.

Do not use Neosporin H Ear Drops 5ml without consulting the doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding. Before taking Neosporin H Ear Drops 5ml, inform your doctor about your medical history and other medications you are currently taking to rule out any potential negative effects and interactions. Neosporin H Ear Drops 5ml should not be used longer than your doctor prescribes. Contact your doctor if the infection symptoms persist or worsen after two weeks of treatment.
