About Nicopan-5 Tablet 25's
Nicopan-5 Tablet 25's belongs to a class of medication called 'vasodilators' used to prevent or treat angina pectoris (heart-related chest pain) in adults who cannot take beta-blockers (blood pressure-lowering pills). Angina pectoris is a kind of chest pain due to decreased blood flow to the heart. It is a symptom of coronary artery disease.
Nicopan-5 Tablet 25's contains Nicorandil, a potassium-channel activator that opens potassium channels present on the muscle cells within the walls of blood vessels and relaxes these muscle cells and widens blood vessels. Thereby, Nicopan-5 Tablet 25's reduces the heart's workload by making it easier for the heart to pump blood around the body and does not require much oxygen. Also, Nicopan-5 Tablet 25's helps to prevent angina by increasing oxygen and blood supply to the heart muscle by widening coronary arteries within the heart.
Take Nicopan-5 Tablet 25's as prescribed by your doctor. You are advised to take Nicopan-5 Tablet 25's for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition. Some people may experience headache, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, weakness, flushing (reddening of the skin) or very fast, forceful or uneven heartbeat. Most of these side effects of Nicopan-5 Tablet 25's do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist, please consult your doctor.
If you are allergic to Nicopan-5 Tablet 25's or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Do not take Nicopan-5 Tablet 25's if you are pregnant or breastfeeding and consult a doctor.
