Ocan-AF Ear Drop 5 ml

Ocan-AF Ear Drop 5 ml is used to treat ear infections. An ear infection occurs when microbes like bacteria and fungi infect the outer and middle ear (air-filled space behind the eardrum). Symptoms include ear pain, fever, irritability, drainage of fluid from the ear, and hearing loss. 

Ocan-AF Ear Drop 5 ml contains Clotrimazole (antifungal), Neomycin (antibiotic) and Beclomethasone (corticosteroid). Clotrimazole stops the growth of fungi by causing damage to the fungal cell membrane. Neomycin prevents the synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. Beclomethasone blocks prostaglandins (chemical messenger) production, which makes the affected area red, swollen and itchy. It prevents inflammation and allergy.

Your doctor will advise the appropriate dose based on your condition. Ocan-AF Ear Drop 5 ml is for otic (ear) use only. Ocan-AF Ear Drop 5 ml may cause common side effects like ear discomfort and itching or irritation in the ear. These side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, please consult your doctor.

Let your doctor know if you are allergic to any of the components in Ocan-AF Ear Drop 5 ml. Please inform your doctor if you have any hearing problems (ototoxicity) and a perforated eardrum before using Ocan-AF Ear Drop 5 ml. • Avoid consuming foods you are allergic to, as it can cause the body to produce excess mucus leading to inflammation.
• Avoid getting things like shampoo, soap, and water into the ear, as it can cause itching.
• Do not poke or scratch the ear, as it can cause damage to the ear canal, leading to inflammation.
• Avoid or limit the intake of alcohol and caffeine.

Fungal ear infection: When a fungus infiltrates and damages the ear canal, which extends from the ear hole to the eardrum, it causes a fungal ear infection, also known as otomycosis (the external auditory canal).
