Olmat MT 50 Tablet 7's is a combination of blood pressure-lowering medicine, primarily used to treat high blood pressure. Olmat MT 50 Tablet 7's contains Olmesartan (angiotensin receptor blocker) and Metoprolol (beta-blocker). Hypertension or high blood pressure is a chronic condition in which the force exerted by the blood against the artery wall is high. As a result, it leads to heart diseases, irregular heartbeat, and other complications.

Olmat MT 50 Tablet 7's is a combination of two medicines, namely: Olmesartan and Metoprolol, which together helps in lowering raised blood pressure effectively. Olmesartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB). It works by blocking the hormone angiotensin, thereby relaxing blood vessels. This allows the blood to flow more smoothly and the heart to pump more efficiently. Metoprolol (beta-blocker) helps in relaxing our blood vessels by blocking the action of certain natural substances in your body. This lowers your blood pressure and helps in reducing your risk of having a stroke, a heart attack, other heart problems, or kidney problems in the future. This medicine needs to be taken regularly to be effective.

You can take Olmat MT 50 Tablet 7's with food or without food. It should be swallowed whole with a glass of water. Do not chew, bite, or break it. Your doctor will advise you how often you take your tablets based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience headache, nausea, dizziness, increased potassium level, and low blood pressure. Most of these side effects of Olmat MT 50 Tablet 7's do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor.

Try not to stop taking this medicine of your own. Let your doctor know about this, as it may cause a rise in blood pressure and can increase the risk of getting heart diseases and stroke. Don't stop taking Olmat MT 50 Tablet 7's without talking to your doctor first. Stopping Olmat MT 50 Tablet 7's gradually may cause changes in your heart rhythm and blood pressure, cause chest pain, or a heart attack. Your doctor will lower your dose gradually over a period of time to help prevent these symptoms. You should not use Olmat MT 50 Tablet 7's if you have a very slow heartbeat, asthma, serious heart condition (sick sinus syndrome), or any heart blockage. It should not be given to the children less than 12 years of age. Before taking Olmat MT 50 Tablet 7's, you should tell the doctor if you have any muscle disorder (myasthenia gravis, rhabdomyolysis), breathing problem (COPD, bronchitis, emphysema), low blood sugar level (hypoglycaemia), low blood pressure (hypotension), depression, previous heart failure, liver/kidney disease, thyroid hormone disorder, adrenal gland cancer, or problems with circulation (Raynaud’s syndrome). Prolonged use of Olmat MT 50 Tablet 7's may cause increased potassium level, so regular monitoring of serum potassium and electrolyte is essentially required.

Drug-Drug Interaction: Olmat MT 50 Tablet 7's may interact with other beta-blockers (acebutolol, atenolol, bisoprolol, carteolol, esmolol, metoprolol, nadolol, nebivolol or sotalol), causing a dangerous drop in the heart rate. It also reacts with other anti-hypertensive drugs (aliskiren, amiloride, enalapril, captopril, quinapril), asthma medications (theophylline), potassium salts, pain killers (ibuprofen). If you are using these medicines, tell your doctor before taking Olmat MT 50 Tablet 7's. 

Drug-Food Interaction: Olmat MT 50 Tablet 7's interact with grapefruit and protein-enriched foods. Using Olmat MT 50 Tablet 7's together with ayurvedic, homoeopathy, unani, herbal supplements or any other OTC items may decrease the effects of Olmat MT 50 Tablet 7's. Hence, it is better to maintain at least 2 hours gap between the administration of Olmat MT 50 Tablet 7's and these products.

• Opt for a diet rich in whole grains, fruits, veggies, and low-fat dairy products.
• If you are taking alcohol then only one serving for women and two servings for men is advisable.
• Quitting smoking is the best strategy to lower the risk of heart disease.
• Avoid chronic stress as it can raise your blood pressure. Try to enjoy and spent time with your loved ones to cope with stress and practice mindfulness techniques.
• Monitor your blood pressure daily and if there is too much fluctuation then immediately contact your doctor.
• Try to include heart-healthy omega 3 fatty acids containing food drinks in your daily diet. You can also use low-fat cooking oil like olive oil, soybean oil, canola oil, and coconut oil can help in lowering your elevated blood pressure.

• Limit intake of sodium chloride (table salt) in your daily diet to 2300 mg per day or less than 1500 mg is ideal for most adults.
• Check your blood pressure regularly and make sure your blood pressure does go below than normal, consult your doctor when needed.
