About Optihist AZ Eye Drop

Optihist AZ Eye Drop belongs to the class of medicines called antihistamines (antiallergics) used to reduce eye inflammation. It is used to prevent and treat eye disorders caused by seasonal and perennial allergic conjunctivitis. Eye inflammation is a common condition in which eyes become swollen and red. 

Optihist AZ Eye Drop contains Azelastine, an antiallergic drug that works by blocking the action of histamine, a substance responsible for causing allergic reactions. Thus, it relieves symptoms of allergies and reduces eye inflammation.

Optihist AZ Eye Drop is only for ophthalmic use (eyes). You are advised to use Optihist AZ Eye Drop for as long as your doctor has prescribed it based on your medical condition. Sometimes, you may experience itching, burning or watering in the eyes as its side effects. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects worsen or persist, please consult your doctor. 

Please inform your doctor if you are allergic to Azelastine or other medicines. Optihist AZ Eye Drop is not recommended for children below 4 years to treat eye disorders caused by seasonal allergic conjunctivitis and for children below 12 years to treat eye disorders caused by perennial allergic conjunctivitis. Directions for Use

Optihist AZ Eye Drop is for ophthalmic use only. You are recommended to wash your hands before and after use. Lie down and tilt your head backwards. Pull your lower eyelid gently with your index finger to form a pocket. Instil the number of drops advised by the doctor into the pocket of the lower eyelid. Close your eyes for 1-2 minutes. Finally, replace the cap tightly after use. Do not touch the container’s tip to the eye, eyelids or surrounding areas as it may contaminate Optihist AZ Eye Drop.

  • It is advised to avoid contact with known allergens (allergy-causing agents) such as pollen, dust, etc. 
  • Use only scent-free detergents and soaps.
  • Install an air purifier at home.
  • Regularly vacuum and dust.
  • Limit the carpets, curtains, soft toys and soft furnishings at home.
  • Maintain personal hygiene and keep your surroundings clean.
