Oxcef LB Tablet 10's belongs to a group of antibiotics used to treat bacterial infections of the ear, nose, sinuses (sinusitis), throat (tonsillitis, pharyngitis), lungs (bronchitis, pneumonia), and urinary system (cystitis and kidney infections). Infectious or harmful bacteria can make you sick and reproduce quickly in your body. These harmful bacteria produce toxins, damaging tissue and making you sick.

Oxcef LB Tablet 10's contains Cefixime (antibiotic) and Lactic Acid Bacillus (beneficial lactic acid-producing bacteria). Cefixime kills the bacterial cell by blocking the chemical (mucopeptides) released by the bacteria's outer layer (cell wall). In turn, Oxcef LB Tablet 10's weakens and destroys the bacterial cell wall. It is a broad range of antibiotics that helps in fighting various types of bacteria. Lactic Acid Bacillus is a beneficial lactic acid-producing bacteria (good bacteria) that supports the growth of friendly bacteria in the intestine, maintaining a healthy balance of microflora in the gut environment. Lactic Acid Bacillus prevents diarrhoea due to a prolonged intake of Oxcef LB Tablet 10's. Thus, together Oxcef LB Tablet 10's helps in the prevention of infections.  Oxcef LB Tablet 10's will not work for colds, flu, or other viral infections.

Take Oxcef LB Tablet 10's with or without food. It should be swallowed as a whole, do not crush or chew the tablet. The dose and duration of Oxcef LB Tablet 10's can vary depending on your condition and the severity of the infection. It is also recommended to complete the course of medicine even if you feel better, as it is an antibiotic. Leaving it in between may lead to severe infection that will stop responding to the antibiotic (antibiotic resistance). Sometimes, you may experience certain common side effects such as nausea, vomiting, indigestion, abdominal pain, and Headache. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Before starting Oxcef LB Tablet 10's, please inform your doctor if you have any allergies (against any antibiotic) or kidney or liver problems. Do not take Oxcef LB Tablet 10's on your own, as self-medication may lead to antibiotic resistance in which antibiotics fail to act against specific bacterial infections. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant, or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking Oxcef LB Tablet 10's. As far as it is known, Oxcef LB Tablet 10's may be used in pregnancy. Consideration should be given to discontinuing nursing temporarily during treatment with Oxcef LB Tablet 10's.

In some cases, the use of Oxcef LB Tablet 10's causes antibiotic-associated diarrhoea; however, Lactic Acid Bacillus in this medicine prevents these symptoms. Inform your doctor if you have phenylketonuria (PKU), as Oxcef LB Tablet 10's may contain phenylalanine. Talk to your doctor before taking Oxcef LB Tablet 10's if you have diabetes as Oxcef LB Tablet 10's liquid dosage form contains sucrose. Long-term use of Oxcef LB Tablet 10's may affect your blood, kidney, and liver health, so a yearly diagnostics test of these parameters is recommended. Talk to your doctor before taking this medicine if you have epilepsy, diabetes, stomach problems, or kidney or liver problems. Consult your doctor before using Oxcef LB Tablet 10's if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Oxcef LB Tablet 10's is not recommended for use in children below ten years old unless recommended by a doctor.

• Good hygiene is the most effective strategy to prevent illnesses.
• Include more fibre-enriched food in your diet.  
• Avoid taking too much calcium, iron-enriched foods, and drinks as it might affect the working of Oxcef LB Tablet 10's.
• Avoid having close touch with sick people.
• Coughing and sneezing should be covered.
• If you are ill, stay at home.
• Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces.
• Stay away from polluted food and water.
• Avoid the intake of alcoholic beverages with Oxcef LB Tablet 10's as it can make you dehydrated and affect your sleep. This can make it harder for your body to aid the Oxcef LB Tablet 10's in fighting off infections.

• Even if you feel better after taking Oxcef LB Tablet 10's, do not stop taking it until your doctor says so. This might cause the symptoms to reappear and make the infection difficult to treat due to antibiotic resistance.
• Oxcef LB Tablet 10's can affect growing teeth, so it should be avoided during pregnancy and in children less than ten years old.
• Oxcef LB Tablet 10's should not be consumed beyond its expiry date as it breaks down into harmful chemicals that can damage the kidney.
• Make sure you drink plenty of fluids when you are sick. This will, in general, help you clear out the infection faster, protect you from dehydration, and will help you overcome some unpleasant side effects of taking Oxcef LB Tablet 10's.
