Haemorrhoids, also known as piles, are the inflamed and swollen veins in the rectum and anus that cause discomfort, pain and bleeding. An anal fissure is a small tear in the mucosa that lines the anus. This causes pain and bleeding during or after a bowel movement. Oxerute Cream relieves pain, inflammation, discomfort and itching associated with piles and anal fissures.
 
Oxerute Cream contains Calcium dobesilate (vasoprotective agent), Hydrocortisone (steroid), Lidocaine (local anaesthetic), Troxerutin (vasoprotective agent), Zinc oxide (antiseptic) and Phenylephrine (decongestant). Calcium dobesilate and Troxerutin promote healing and lower inflammation by decreasing the viscosity of the blood and reducing leakage from the blood vessels. Hydrocortisone helps in reducing itching, redness and swelling due to piles. Lidocaine blocks the pain signals from the nerves to the brain, thereby decreasing the sensation of pain. Phenylephrine decreases irritation and discomfort by shrinking the blood vessels in the affected area. Zinc oxide has an antiseptic and astringent action. Together, Oxerute Cream provides relief from pain and discomfort due to piles and anal fissures.
 
You are advised to use Oxerute Cream for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side-effects such as burning sensation, irritation, itching and redness at the site of application. Most of these side-effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side-effects persistently.
 
Do not use Oxerute Cream if you had a skin reaction or irritation to any steroid medicine. Consult your doctor before using Oxerute Cream if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not use Oxerute Cream for longer durations unless prescribed by your doctor. If your condition does not improve despite using Oxerute Cream for 2-4 weeks, please consult your doctor. Do not use Oxerute Cream over a large area or use tight-fitting diapers/plastic pants unless directed by your doctor. • Eat fibre-rich food and drink plenty of fluids. This helps to keep the stools soft.
• A warm bath helps in easing pain and itching.
• Keep your bottom dry and clean.
• Regular exercise is recommended.
• Avoid or limit alcohol and caffeinated products to prevent constipation.
• Empty your bowels whenever your body tells you to.
• Avoid pushing too hard while pooping as it can cause tissue tearing.
• Include fruits, vegetables and whole wheat grains in your diet.

Piles: Hemorrhoids, also known as piles, are the inflamed and swollen veins in the rectum and anus that cause discomfort, pain, and bleeding. Haemorrhoids can be external or internal. Internal haemorrhoids develop within the rectum and anus, whereas external haemorrhoids develop outside the anus region. Piles cause pain, itching and bleeding. They also cause trouble in sitting. Symptoms include itching, irritation and pain around the anus, swelling near the anus region, painful bowel movements and blood in stools.

Anal fissure: Anal fissure is a small tear in the mucosa that lines the anus. This causes pain and bleeding during or after a bowel movement. Anal fissures generally heal on their own. If the condition lasts for more than 8 weeks, it can be considered chronic. Sometimes surgery may also be needed depending on the condition. Symptoms include tear of skin around the anus region, burning sensation, pain and blood during a bowel movement.
