Pilo-AKT AD PH 5.5 Shampoo 100 ml belongs to a class of drugs called 'antifungal' primarily used to treat fungal infections. It is used to treat seborrhoeic dermatitis of the scalp characterized by dandruff, red skin, itching etc. Fungal infection occurs when a fungus invades and affects the tissue on the skin. Symptoms of a fungal infection include skin rash, irritation, redness, and scaling of the skin.  

Pilo-AKT AD PH 5.5 Shampoo 100 ml contains 'Ciclopirox and Zinc pyrithione'. Ciclopirox works by inhibiting the growth of fungus and reducing the infection. It causes membrane instability by accumulating inside fungal cells and interfering with protein transport across the fungal cell membrane. Zinc pyrithione slows the production of skin cells and helps reduce flakiness. As a result it clears dandruff, red skin, itching etc. 

Pilo-AKT AD PH 5.5 Shampoo 100 ml is only for external use. Use Pilo-AKT AD PH 5.5 Shampoo 100 ml as prescribed by your doctor. You are advised to take Pilo-AKT AD PH 5.5 Shampoo 100 ml for as long as prescribed for you depending on your medical condition. Avoid contact with nose, mouth or eyes. In case Pilo-AKT AD PH 5.5 Shampoo 100 ml comes in contact with these areas accidentally, rinse with water thoroughly. Some people may experience itching, irritation or burning sensation at the site of application. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

If you are known to be allergic to Pilo-AKT AD PH 5.5 Shampoo 100 ml or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant or a nursing mother, it is advised to consult a doctor before using. Pilo-AKT AD PH 5.5 Shampoo 100 ml is not recommended to children below 16 years of age. Do not use in more than prescribed doses, or for a prolonged time as it may cause adverse effects. Inform your doctor if you have diabetes, HIV, or AIDS, or undergoing chemotherapy, and seizures.

Avoid contact of Pilo-AKT AD PH 5.5 Shampoo 100 ml with nose, mouth or eyes as it may irritate. In case Pilo-AKT AD PH 5.5 Shampoo 100 ml comes in contact with these areas accidentally, rinse with water thoroughly. If you are pregnant or a nursing mother, it is advised to consult a doctor before using Pilo-AKT AD PH 5.5 Shampoo 100 ml. If you are allergic to Pilo-AKT AD PH 5.5 Shampoo 100 ml or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Do not apply Pilo-AKT AD PH 5.5 Shampoo 100 ml to broken skin or cuts. Do not swallow Pilo-AKT AD PH 5.5 Shampoo 100 ml. In case of accidental swallowing, contact a nearby poison control centre or consult a doctor immediately. Do not use more than what is recommended to relieve your symptoms faster and do not cover the area being treated with Pilo-AKT AD PH 5.5 Shampoo 100 ml with a bandage, as this may increase absorption of this medicine and increase the side effects. Pilo-AKT AD PH 5.5 Shampoo 100 ml should be used with caution in people with a weakened immune system due to chronic conditions such as HIV or AIDS and people who are receiving chemotherapy, diabetes, a condition for which you use steroid medication (including skin conditions or breathing disorders).

• Regularly wash the affected areas with mild shampoo.
• Use conditioners, shampoos and other products containing tea tree oil as they might help to relieve itching.
• Avoid styling hair sprays and gels during a flare.
• Avoid alcohol-based products as they trigger a reaction.
• Do not scratch the affected area of the skin as it can spread the infection to other body parts.
• Avoid sharing towels, combs, bedsheets, shoes, or socks with others.
• Wash your bedsheets and towels regularly.
