PILOMIN 5% SOLUTION belongs to the class of ‘vasodilators’ used to treat alopecia (hair loss). PILOMIN 5% SOLUTION stimulates hair growth and slows down the process of balding. Alopecia is the thinning or loss of hair on the scalp or any part of the body.

PILOMIN 5% SOLUTION contains ‘Minoxidil’, a vasodilator that widens the blood vessels. This vasodilation process helps provide oxygen, blood, and nutrients to the hair follicles, thereby preventing hair cell death and promoting new hair growth. 

Your doctor will suggest the dose and duration based on your condition. Some common side effects of PILOMIN 5% SOLUTION include changes in the colour/texture of the hair, excessive hair growth, headache, itching, skin irritation, dryness, shortness of breath, scaling of the skin, and redness. These side effects usually do not require medical attention and gradually resolve during the treatment. If the side effects persist or worsen, consult a doctor.

Children and adolescents below 18 years should not use PILOMIN 5% SOLUTION.

• It is advised to maintain a healthy diet with well-balanced meals.
• Avoid overusing styling tools like blow dryers, curling rods, and chemical dying, which can cause loss of natural hair oils and cause hair fall.
• Regular oiling helps in the blood circulation of the scalp and nourishes the roots.
• Washing your hair twice a week with a good shampoo and conditioner can also improve your hair fall.
• Practice yoga and meditation to control your stress, which is the greatest enemy of hair fall.
