Polq-DM Eye/Ear Ointment 5 gm belongs to the class of combination medications called ‘antibiotics' and 'steroids' used for the treatment of bacterial eye infections and ear infections. A bacterial infection is a condition in which harmful bacteria grow in the body and cause infection. It can infect any part of the body and multiply very quickly. Polq-DM Eye/Ear Ointment 5 gm does not work against infections caused by viruses and fungi.

Polq-DM Eye/Ear Ointment 5 gm is a combination of Chloramphenicol, Dexamethasone, and Polymyxin B. Chloramphenicol is an antibiotic that acts by interfering with the formation of essential proteins required for bacterial growth. Dexamethasone is a steroid that reduces inflammation and symptoms associated with infection, such as redness and irritation. Polymyxin B is bactericidal that works by killing the bacterial cell by preventing bacterial cell walls' formation essential for survival. Together Polq-DM Eye/Ear Ointment 5 gm prevent the spread of eye and ear infections caused by a wide range of gram-negative bacteria causing eye/ear infections. 

You should use this medicine as prescribed by your doctor. When used in the eyes, the common side effects are eye discomfort, eye irritation, and a burning sensation in the eye. When used as ear drops, the side effects include mild irritation and temporary ear discomfort. Most of these side effects of Polq-DM Eye/Ear Ointment 5 gm do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects worsen or persist, please consult your doctor.

If you are allergic to Polq-DM Eye/Ear Ointment 5 gm or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Polq-DM Eye/Ear Ointment 5 gm should be used with caution in children. You are advised to consult a doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Please do not touch the container tip to the eye, eyelids, or surrounding areas as it may contaminate Polq-DM Eye/Ear Ointment 5 gm and cause eye infections. Before using Polq-DM Eye/Ear Ointment 5 gm, inform your doctor if you have fungal infections, viral infections such as herpes simplex or varicella, or parasitic infections such as amoebiasis. Do not use Polq-DM Eye/Ear Ointment 5 gm if you have tuberculosis, damaged cornea, ulceration, lesions with missing skin that cover the eye or ear, and increased pressure inside the eye.

• Sleep for at least six to eight hours to rejuvenate your eyes naturally.
• Wash your eyes with clean water at least two to three times a day
• Manage stress, eat healthily, drink plenty of water, exercise regularly and get plenty of sleep.
• Keep your ear clean and dry.
• Avoid alcoholic beverages as they can make you dehydrated and affect your sleep. This effect can also affect your body’s ability to fight off infections.

• Do not wear contact lenses while using Polq-DM Eye/Ear Ointment 5 gm eye drops.
• Avoid getting water in your ears while bathing, showering, or swimming while treating an ear infection.
• Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight while using Polq-DM Eye/Ear Ointment 5 gm as it may cause increased photosensitivity (sensitivity to light).
