About Predorx Eye Drop

Predorx Eye Drop belongs to the class of medicines called corticosteroids used to reduce eye inflammation caused by certain conditions. It is used to provide relief from eye redness, irritation, burning and swelling caused by heat, radiation, chemicals, allergy or foreign objects in the eye. Eye inflammation is a common condition in which eyes become swollen and red.  

Predorx Eye Drop contains Prednisolone acetate (corticosteroid) and Benzalkonium chloride (preservative). Prednisolone acetate belongs to the class of corticosteroids that works by inhibiting the release of certain chemical messengers in the body that cause redness, itching and swelling. Benzalkonium chloride acts as a preservative. 

Predorx Eye Drop is only for ophthalmic use (eyes). You are advised to use Predorx Eye Drop for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience mild eye irritation, headache, red eye, blurred vision or a feeling of something in the eye. Most of these side effects of Predorx Eye Drop do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects worsen or persist, please consult your doctor. 

If you are allergic to Predorx Eye Drop or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Predorx Eye Drop is not recommended for children as the safety and effectiveness were not established. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please inform your doctor before using Predorx Eye Drop. Drive only if your vision is clear as Predorx Eye Drop may cause temporary blurred vision immediately after using. If you have bacterial, viral or fungal eye infections, ulcers or injuries on the cornea, tuberculosis of the eye, glaucoma, or had herpes simplex, inform your doctor before using Predorx Eye Drop.

Directions for Use

Predorx Eye Drop is for ophthalmic use only. You are recommended to wash your hands before and after use. Lie down and tilt your head backwards. Pull your lower eyelid gently with your index finger to form a pocket. Instil the number of drops advised by the doctor into the pocket of the lower eyelid. Close your eyes for 1-2 minutes. Finally, replace the cap tightly after use. Do not touch the container’s tip to the eye, eyelids or surrounding areas as it may contaminate Predorx Eye Drop.

Co-administration of Predorx Eye Drop 10 ml with Natalizumab can increase the risk of developing serious infections.

Co-administration of Predorx Eye Drop 10 ml with Natalizumab can result in an interaction, but it can be taken if a doctor has advised it. However, if you experience fever, chills, diarrhea, sore throat, muscle pains, breathing difficulty, blood in your coughing fluid, weight loss, red or irritated skin, body sores, discomfort or burning when you urinate, weakness on one side of the body, clumsiness of limbs, disturbance of vision, confusion, or changes in thinking, memory, and personality, consult a doctor. Do not stop using any medications without a doctor's advice.
How does the drug interact with Predorx Eye Drop 10 ml:
Co-administration of Sparfloxacin may cause tendinitis (inflammation of a tissue that attaches muscle to bone) and tendon rupture, and the risk may be increased when combined with Predorx Eye Drop 10 ml. People over the age of 60 and people who have had a kidney, heart, or lung transplant may be especially at risk.

Although there is an interaction, Predorx Eye Drop 10 ml can be taken with Sparfloxacin if prescribed by the doctor. However, if you experience pain, inflammation, or swelling of a tendon area such as the back of the ankle, biceps, shoulder, hand, or thumb, stop taking sparfloxacin and consult your doctor. Additionally, you need to avoid exercising or using the impacted area until a doctor issues further instructions. Do not stop using any medications without a doctor's advice.

Taking Predorx Eye Drop 10 ml with Fingolimod can increase the risk of developing serious infections.

However, if you experience fever, chills, diarrhea, sore throat, muscle pains, breathing difficulty, blood in your coughing fluid, weight loss, red or irritated skin, body sores, and discomfort or burning when you urinate, consult a doctor. Predorx Eye Drop contains Prednisolone acetate and Benzalkonium chloride. You are not recommended to wear contact lenses while using Predorx Eye Drop as it contains benzalkonium chloride, a preservative that changes the colour of contact lens as it may be absorbed by soft contact lens. Therefore, you are advised to remove contact lenses before using Predorx Eye Drop and reinsert after 15 minutes of using Predorx Eye Drop. Also, inform your doctor if you experience pain, stinging or abnormal sensation in the eye after using Predorx Eye Drop.

Predorx Eye Drop may cause temporary blurred vision. Therefore, you are recommended to wait until your vision is clear before driving or operating heavy machinery.

You are not recommended to stop using Predorx Eye Drop without consulting your doctor as it may rarely flare-up inflammatory response such as retina swelling. Therefore, use Predorx Eye Drop for as long as your doctor has prescribed it and if you experience any difficulty while taking Predorx Eye Drop, please consult your doctor.

Predorx Eye Drop can be used with other eye medications if advised by the doctor. However, maintain a gap of 5-10minutes between Predorx Eye Drop and other eye medications.
