Pregalon Tablet is a combination medication indicated for the management of neuropathic pain. It may also be used to treat pain caused by fibromyalgia (musculoskeletal pain), nerve pain in post-herpetic neuralgia (damage to the nerve fibres during shingles infection) or spinal cord injury. Neuropathic pain is a chronic progressive nerve disease that causes nerve pain due to nerve damage or a malfunctioning nervous system. 

Pregalon Tablet contains Methylcobalamin, Pregabalin, Alpha lipoic acid, and Pyridoxine. Mecobalamin/Methylcobalamin, a form of vitamin B12, regulates body functions, such as cell multiplication, blood formation, and protein synthesis. Pregabalin is an antiepileptic agent that works by binding to the specific site on voltage-gated calcium channels, thus helping to relieve nerve pain. Alpha-lipoic acid is an antioxidant that prevents cell damage and restores vitamin levels in the body. It also decreases pain and numbness in neuropathy. Pyridoxine (vitamin B6) is a water-soluble vitamin that is involved in protein, fat, and carbohydrate metabolism and the formation of red blood cells and neurotransmitters. 

Your doctor will decide the dosage based on your medical condition. Sometimes, Pregalon Tablet may have common side effects like dizziness, drowsiness, blurred vision, shakiness, headache, nausea, vomiting, constipation, weight gain, swelling in the hands and feet, and dry mouth. These side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Please tell your doctor if you are allergic to Pregalon Tablet or its components. It is essential to let your doctor know if you are pregnant, planning to conceive or a breastfeeding mother. Pregalon Tablet may cause drowsiness and dizziness, so drive only if you are alert. Avoid consuming alcohol along with Pregalon Tablet as it could lead to increased dizziness and sleepiness. Pregalon Tablet should be used in children only with the doctor's advice.

Let your doctor know if you have any blood disorders, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), liver/kidney/heart diseases, diabetes, mood disorders, substance use disorder, and angioedema (painless swelling under the skin) before starting Pregalon Tablet . Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before taking Pregalon Tablet . This medicine may cause drowsiness and dizziness, so drive only if you are alert. Avoid consuming alcohol during the treatment, as it could increase dizziness and sleepiness. Pregalon Tablet should be used in children only with the doctor's advice.

• Try Vitamin B complex food sources like milk, cheese, eggs, liver and kidney, chicken, red meat, tuna, mackerel, salmon, shellfish, oysters, clams, dark green vegetables, such as spinach and kale, beets, avocados, potatoes, whole grains, cereals, kidney beans, black beans, and chickpeas.
• Include cayenne pepper in your diet to help lower neuropathic pain.
• Taking a warm shower can help ease the pain.
• Avoid smoking and alcohol consumption.
• Using essential oils for massage can help increase circulation.
• Exercise regularly and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Avoid excess fatty foods.

Let your doctor and the laboratory staff know if you are using Pregalon Tablet since Pyridoxine may interfere with a urine test for urobilinogen. 

Neuropathic pain: It is a nervous disorder that occurs due to nerve damage caused by chronic progressive nerve disease, limb amputation, diabetes or due to infection or injury. The pain could be intermittent or continuous, such as a prickling, stabbing, tingling or burning sensation. A feeling of numbness and loss of sensation is also common with neuropathic pain. Symptoms include spontaneous, un-triggered pain, unpleasant feeling, shooting, burning or stabbing pain, difficulty resting or sleeping, and evoked pain (pain caused by events that are usually not painful). 

Fibromyalgia: It is a condition characterized by widespread musculoskeletal pain and tenderness. It usually occurs along with fatigue and altered sleep, memory and mood. Symptoms include fatigue, joint stiffness, tingling, numbness, a burning or prickling sensation in hands and feet, and mood swings.
