About Quinine Dihydrochloride 600 mg Injection 2 ml

Quinine Dihydrochloride 600 mg Injection 2 ml belongs to the class of anti-malarial drugs primarily used to treat malaria. Malaria is a disease caused by a plasmodium parasite transmitted by the bite of infected Anopheles mosquitoes. When an infected mosquito bites a healthy person, it transmits the 'Plasmodium parasite' into the bloodstream, which affects the red blood cells and liver cells. Malaria symptoms usually start ten days to 4 weeks after the infection. They include chills, high fever, profuse sweating, headache, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, anaemia, muscle pain, convulsions, coma, and bloody stools. Quinine Dihydrochloride 600 mg Injection 2 ml is only used to treat malaria but does not prevent it.

Quinine Dihydrochloride 600 mg Injection 2 ml contains Quinine, which treats malaria. It treats malaria by increasing the levels of hemozoin (a toxic substance to the malarial parasite) in the blood. As a result, it kills the parasite and helps to stop the infection from spreading further.

Quinine Dihydrochloride 600 mg Injection 2 ml will be administered by a qualified healthcare professional; hence do not self-administer. Sometimes, you may experience common side effects like injection site reactions, nausea, restlessness, visual disturbances, vertigo (sudden internal or external spinning sensation), difficulty hearing or ringing in the ears, confusion and nervousness. These side effects are not familiar to everyone and vary individually. If you notice any side effects that are not manageable, please consult your doctor.

Quinine Dihydrochloride 600 mg Injection 2 ml should be avoided if you are allergic to it. Let your doctor know about all your medical conditions, sensitivities, and all medications you are using. Also, inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding. Quinine Dihydrochloride 600 mg Injection 2 ml will affect your ability to drive or operate machinery; hence, avoid driving or using machinery. It is recommended not to consume any alcoholic beverages to rule out any possibility of side effects.
