About Rashfree Cream, 20 gm

Rashfree Cream, 20 gm is a dermatological antiseptic medication, primarily used to treat and prevent diaper rash and other minor skin irritations like burns, cuts, and scrapes. Rashfree Cream, 20 gm promotes the healing of chapped skin and diaper rash. Diaper rash is an inflammatory reaction, which is localized to skin areas usually covered by the diaper.

Rashfree Cream, 20 gm contains Benzalkonium chloride and Zinc oxide. Benzalkonium chloride is used as an antiseptic, disinfectant, and antimicrobial preservative. It has antimicrobial properties against bacteria, fungi, and viruses. Benzalkonium chloride prevents skin infections and is used to clean wounds. Zinc oxide is a mild antiseptic and astringent (cleanses skin and tightens pores). It is a mineral that treats diaper rash, minor burns, severely chapped skin, and other minor skin irritations. It works by forming a barrier on the skin to protect it from moisture and irritants. It is used as a protective coating for mild skin irritations and abrasions. Rashfree Cream, 20 gm works by inhibiting the growth of infection-causing microbes.

Rashfree Cream, 20 gm is for external use only. Rashfree Cream, 20 gm has common side effects as every medicine does. These include local itchiness, redness, and irritation at the application site. These side effects gradually resolve during the treatment and do not require medical attention. However, if you notice any allergic reactions and skin rash, please consult your doctor.

Let your doctor know if you are allergic to Benzalkonium chloride or Zinc oxide. Let your doctor know if you have a history of liver, kidney diseases, and skin infections before using Rashfree Cream, 20 gm. Diaper rash creams sometimes may contain additional preservatives that may make your skin more sensitive to the sun. Please check the label for such warnings and ask your doctor to suggest you any precautions.

Diet & Lifestyle Advise

  • Use mild soap while taking baths and prefer warm baths.
  • Avoid harsh products on your skin.
  • Do not scratch or pick your skin to avoid getting the affected area infected.
  • Manage stress, eat healthily, drink plenty of water, exercise regularly and get plenty of sleep.
  • Do not walk barefoot at places like gym showers to prevent contagious skin infections.
  • Change timely the diapers of your baby, even if they are soiled or not, to prevent any irritation on the baby's skin.
  • Avoid frequent use of diapers and use them only if they are required. Keep the area dry and clean.
  • Check the diaper frequently if the baby has a rash and change it as soon as it is wet or soiled.
  • It is advised not to use airtight rubber pants over the diaper area. Cloth-like disposable diapers promote better air circulation than plastic-type diapers and keep the area moist-free.

Disease/Condition Glossary

Diaper rash: It is an inflammatory reaction localized to skin areas usually covered by the diaper. It is seen as a patchwork of bright red skin on your baby's bottom. Diaper rashes occur equally with cloth diapers and disposable diapers.

Skin infection: A skin infection can occur when the skin is broken, cut or wounded. This skin infection allows the pathogenic microorganisms to enter and invade the tissues surrounding the wound. Infection of the wound can trigger the body's immune response, causing inflammation and tissue damage and eventually slowing down the healing process.
