About Remulide Gel

Remulide Gel belongs to the group of medicines called NSAIDs (Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs) used to relieve pain and inflammation associated with musculoskeletal disorders, sprain, contusion, and soft tissue rheumatic disorders. 
 
Remulide Gel contains Nimesulide which works by inhibiting the effect of chemical messengers known as cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzymes, thereby blocking the effect of prostaglandins which cause pain and inflammation. Thus, Remulide Gel helps in reducing pain and inflammation. 
 
In some cases, you may experience side effects such as application site reactions like itching and skin redness. Please consult your doctor if the side effects persist or worsen.
 
Consult a doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Remulide Gel is not recommended for children below 12 years. Do not apply Remulide Gel on infected, injured, or irritated skin. Avoid contact of Remulide Gel with eyes and mucous membrane; if contact occurs, wash with water immediately.

Uses of Remulide Gel

Directions for Use

Cream/Ointment/Gel: Apply it to the affected area and gently massage it in.Spray: Point the nozzle towards the area of the application and spray the medication from at least 6-8inches away from the application site for even distribution of the drug. Gently spread the medication if required, do not rub.

Drug Warnings

Do not use Remulide Gel if you are allergic to any of its components, if you are hypersensitive to NSAIDs, or if you have gastrointestinal ulcers or kidney failure. Inform your doctor if you have blood clotting problems, gastric ulcers, or heart, kidney or liver problems. Consult a doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Remulide Gel is not recommended for children below 12 years. Do not use Remulide Gel on broken, injured, infected or abraded skin. Avoid covering the treated area with dressings or bandages.

  • Physical activity helps in strengthening muscles and relieves joint stiffness. Gentle activities like 20-30minutes of walking or swimming would be helpful.
  • Performing yoga may also help in improving joint flexibility and pain management.
  • Maintain a healthy weight by performing regular low-strain exercises and eating healthy food.
  • Get adequate sleep as resting the muscles can help in reducing inflammation and swelling.
  • De-stress yourself by meditating, reading books, taking a warm bubble bath or listening to soothing music.
  • Acupuncture, massage and physical therapy may also be helpful.
  • Eat food rich in antioxidants such as berries, spinach, kidney beans, dark chocolate, etc.
  • Foods containing flavonoids help in reducing inflammation. These include soy, berries, broccoli, grapes and green tea.
  • Avoid smoking and alcohol consumption.

Remulide Gel works by blocking the effect of chemical messengers that cause pain and inflammation. Thereby, Remulide Gel helps in providing relief from pain.

Avoid concomitant use of Remulide Gel with other topical products such as cosmetics, sunscreens, lotions, moisturisers, insect-repellent creams, and other gels.

Do not cover the treated skin with dressings after applying Remulide Gel. Covering the skin or applying heat might increase the amount of drug absorbed into the skin leading to unpleasant side effects.

Do not apply Remulide Gel on wounds, skin injuries, irritated skin, skin abrasions, rashes, and infections. Apply Remulide Gel on healthy skin only.

Avoid using Remulide Gel on larger areas for longer durations unless recommended by the doctor. Use Remulide Gel only as advised by the doctor.

Special Advise

  • Wash your hands after use. However, do not wash your hands if you are using Remulide Gel on the hands.
  • If Remulide Gel comes in contact with eyes, mouth or nose, wash with water immediately. Consult a doctor if irritation persists.
