About Rhinase Nasal Drops 10 ml

Rhinase Nasal Drops 10 ml belongs to a class of corticosteroid medications used to relieve symptoms of allergic rhinitis/hay fever, allergies, and vasomotor (nonallergic) rhinitis. It is also used to minimize nasal polyps (non-cancerous growths on the lining of the nose or sinuses) during nasal polyp removal surgery. Allergic rhinitis is an allergy-induced by dust or pollen that causes inflammation of the mucous membranes of the eyes and nose, resulting in a runny nose and watery eyes.

Rhinase Nasal Drops 10 ml contains Beclomethasone Dipropionate, a corticosteroid that works by blocking the action of natural chemical substances which cause allergic reactions. Thus, it relieves the symptoms of itchy, stuffy or runny nose, sneezing, or other associated symptoms due to hay fever, other allergies, or vasomotor (nonallergic) rhinitis.

Rhinase Nasal Drops 10 ml must be used as directed by the healthcare professional or as per leaflet information. Rhinase Nasal Drops 10 ml may cause side effects such as sneezing, dry or sore throat, unpleasant taste or smell and dry or sore nose or nosebleeds. These side effects vary individually and may not occur in everyone taking Rhinase Nasal Drops 10 ml. If any of the side effects are not manageable, consult your doctor.

Inform your doctor before using Rhinase Nasal Drops 10 ml if you have ever had an allergic reaction to any of the components in Rhinase Nasal Drops 10 ml, have an infection in your nose, have had nose surgery, or have recently taken other corticosteroid medicines. Consult your doctor if you are trying to get pregnant, are already pregnant, or are breastfeeding. Rhinase Nasal Drops 10 ml is not recommended for children under the age of six.

Diet & Lifestyle Advise

  • Keep your hygiene in check and your surroundings neat.
  • Include ginger in your daily intake. Some anti-inflammatory chemicals in ginger help relax airway membranes.
  • Stay hydrated. Coughing, runny nose, and sneezing can be relieved by drinking beverages at room temperature.
  • Stress weakens the immune system and increases the likelihood of being ill. Exercise regularly, meditate, practise deep breathing, and try progressive muscle relaxation techniques to relieve stress.
  • Rest well. Get optimum sleep.
  • It is best to avoid contact with recognised allergens (allergy-causing agents) such as pollen, dust, etc.
  • Avoid certain food that is known to trigger allergies in you.
  • Processed foods and those high in sugar and fat should be avoided because they may trigger inflammation.
  • Reduce your daily salt intake and replace it with herbs or spices such as garlic, ginger, and turmeric, which contain natural anti-inflammatory ingredients.

Special Advise

Growth retardation has been recorded in children receiving nasal corticosteroids. In case of children receiving long-term nasal corticosteroid medication, the height should be checked frequently.

Disease/Condition Glossary

Allergies: Allergies are the reaction of the immune system to a foreign material that is usually not harmful to the body. These foreign substances are referred to as 'allergens.' Allergic reactions differ from person to person. Some people may be allergic to certain foods or suffer from seasonal allergies such as hay fever. On the other hand, others may be allergic to pollen or pet dander.

Hay fever: Hay fever/allergic rhinitis is an allergic reaction to pollen, typically when it comes into contact with the mouth, nose, eyes and throat. Hay fever symptoms include sneezing and coughing, a runny or blocked nose, itchy, red or watery eyes, itchy throat, mouth, nose and ears, loss of smell, pain around the temples and forehead, headache, earache and feeling tired.

Nonallergic rhinitis: Nonallergic rhinitis is a condition that occurs when the nasal tissues become irritated (swollen). It is also known as vasomotor rhinitis. Symptoms of nonallergic rhinitis include a blocked nose, a runny nose, sneezing, discomfort or mild irritation in and around the nose and a reduced sense of smell.

FAQs

Rhinase Nasal Drops 10 ml decreases swelling, redness, and itching by preventing the generation of chemical messengers in the body that induce inflammation. As a result, Rhinase Nasal Drops 10 ml assists in relieving the symptoms of itchy or runny nose, sneezing, or other associated symptoms due to hay fever, other allergies, or vasomotor (nonallergic) rhinitis.
Rhinase Nasal Drops 10 ml may produce an unpleasant taste or odour; if this occurs, gargle your mouth with water or drink some water.
Rhinase Nasal Drops 10 ml should not be used to treat symptoms (e.g., sneezing, stuffy, runny, itchy nose) caused by the common cold. Please consult your doctor if you have any concerns.
Rhinase Nasal Drops 10 ml is unlikely to cause any long-term side effects if used as prescribed by the doctor. The nasal spray administers a small dose of steroid medication directly to the nose. This reduces the amount of steroids that reach the rest of the body. It also minimises the possibility of negative effects. However, you are advised to use Rhinase Nasal Drops 10 ml only for as long as it has been prescribed by the doctor.
When you begin using Rhinase Nasal Drops 10 ml, you will not notice any rapid improvement in your symptoms. It takes a few days to achieve the desired effect. If you do not feel better after seven days of using Rhinase Nasal Drops 10 ml, consult your doctor. However, some people may require two weeks or more to reap the full advantages.
In rare conditions, Rhinase Nasal Drops 10 ml may cause nose bleeds. If this occurs, stop using Rhinase Nasal Drops 10 ml for a few days, then start again. Speak to your healthcare professional if the side effect persists or worsens.
