About Riflux Fortz Chewable Tablet

Riflux Fortz Chewable Tablet belongs to a group of medicines called antacids used to treat acidity, heartburn, acid indigestion, sour stomach, gas, and stomach upset. The stomach is usually protected from acid by a mucous layer. In some cases, due to excess acid production, the mucous layer gets eroded, which leads to complications like acidity and heartburn.

Riflux Fortz Chewable Tablet contains Activated dimethicone, Aluminium magnesium silicate, Dried aluminium hydroxide, and Magnesium hydroxide. Dried aluminium hydroxide, aluminium magnesium silicate and magnesium hydroxide work by neutralising excess stomach acid. Activated dimethicone works by decreasing the surface tension of gas bubbles, thereby facilitating the expulsion of gas through flatus or belching (burping).

In some cases, you may experience certain common side effects such as nausea, constipation and diarrhoea. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if the side effects persist or worsen.

Do not take Riflux Fortz Chewable Tablet if you are allergic to any of its components. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Please consult a doctor before giving Riflux Fortz Chewable Tablet to children. Keep your doctor informed about your health condition and medications to rule out any side effects/interactions.

Disease/Condition Glossary

The stomach is usually protected from acid by a mucous layer. In some cases, due to excess acid production, the mucous layer gets eroded, which leads to complications like acidity. Due to this, acid frequently flows back into the food pipe (oesophagus). This backflow (acid reflux) irritates the food pipe and causes heartburn. Symptoms include heartburn, a sour or bitter taste in the mouth, and difficulty swallowing.
