About Rozution-T 40 mg Tablet
Rozution-T 40 mg Tablet belongs to the class of medicines called anti-hypertensives used in the treatment of high blood pressure associated with high cholesterol levels. High blood pressure and high levels of cholesterol are two diseases that occur simultaneously in certain patients. Hypertension or high blood pressure is a chronic condition in which the force exerted by the blood against the artery wall is high. High cholesterol known as hyperlipidemia or dyslipidemia occurs when there is an excess of the unhealthy balance of cholesterol in the blood.
Rozution-T 40 mg Tablet is a combination of Telmisartan (angiotensin II receptor antagonists) and Rosuvastatin (HMG CoA reductase inhibitors). Telmisartan is a blood pressure-lowering medicine that works by blocking the action of a hormone called angiotensin II in the body that causes the narrowing of blood vessels leading to high blood pressure. Thereby, it widens and relaxes blood vessels. This lowers high blood pressure. Rosuvastatin is a lipid-lowering medicine that works by blocking liver enzymes (HMG-CoA-reductase) causing the liver to make less cholesterol. So, it increases the uptake and breakdown of cholesterol already in the blood by the liver. Thus, Rozution-T 40 mg Tablet lowers the levels of lipids known as cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood when lifestyle changes (like a low-fat diet) on their own have failed. Rozution-T 40 mg Tablet helps in reducing the ‘bad’ cholesterol LDL (low-density lipoprotein) and increasing the ‘good’ cholesterol HDL (High-density lipoprotein) by blocking our body’s production of ‘bad’ cholesterol. It also improves your body’s ability to remove it from your blood.
Take Rozution-T 40 mg Tablet as prescribed. Your doctor will advise you on how often you take Rozution-T 40 mg Tablet based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience an allergic reaction, low blood pressure (Hypotension), itching of the skin, Steven Johnson syndrome (blistering of skin, mouth, eyes, and genitals), and decreased platelet cell count (thrombocytopenia). Most of these side effects of Rozution-T 40 mg Tablet do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor. It is important to have your lipid profile checked regularly.
Before starting Rozution-T 40 mg Tablet , please inform your doctor if you have kidney disease or have undergone a kidney transplant. renal artery stenosis(narrowing of the blood vessels to one or both kidneys), liver disease, and heart trouble. Do not take Rozution-T 40 mg Tablet on your own as self-medication.

Directions for Use
Medicinal Benefits
Rozution-T 40 mg Tablet is used in patients suffering from coexisting Hypertension (High blood pressure) & Hyperlipidemia (High levels of cholesterol). Rozution-T 40 mg Tablet improves patient compliance due to ease of dosing. Telmisartan & Rosuvastatin are the latest drugs among blood pressure and blood cholesterol-lowering drugs, having minimal side effects & more beneficial effects on a patient. Telmisartan lowers blood pressure by blocking switches/receptors of Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme II which is responsible for narrowing the blood vessels and increase blood pressure. Rosuvastatin, on the other hand, acts by blocking an enzyme in liver called HMG CoA reductase responsible for the formation of cholesterol in high levels.

Disease/Condition Glossary
High Blood Pressure (Hypertension): When the blood pressure rises, there is too much force develops on the lining of the arteries wall that makes the heart work harder to pump blood throughout the body. This results in damage to the blood vessels and heart. If high blood pressure is left untreated, it can lead to stroke, heart attack, heart failure, kidney failure, stroke, and eye problems.
Hyperlipidemia: There are two types of cholesterol found in our body namely good cholesterol (HDL-high-density lipoprotein) and bad cholesterol (LDL-low-density lipoprotein). Good cholesterol is good for our heart and helps in reducing the bad cholesterol in our body. On the other hand, excess bad cholesterol (LDL) leads to the risk of heart diseases like heart attack and stroke. High cholesterol known as hyperlipidemia or dyslipidemia occurs when there is an unhealthy balance of cholesterol in the blood. When there is a high level of cholesterol in the blood, your arteries get narrowed and clogged that finally contributing to heart diseases, like stroke and heart attack. Eating high-fat or high-cholesterol-containing food/drinks and genetic factors are the primary causes of high cholesterol.
