About Sinarest-AF Syrup 60 ml

Sinarest-AF Syrup 60 ml is a respiratory medication, primarily used to treat symptoms of common cold and allergies. The common cold is a respiratory illness that affects the nose and throat and is caused by viruses known as 'rhinoviruses'. The virus enters the body through the nose, mouth, or eyes and spreads easily through air droplets when a sick person sneezes, coughs or talks. Allergy is an immune response produced by the body in response to 'allergens', which releases 'histamines' into the blood. Histamines are the chemicals released into the body due to this immune response and cause a stuffy nose, watery eyes, itching nose/throat, etc.

Sinarest-AF Syrup 60 ml consists of four medicines, namely: Chlorpheniramine maleate(anti-allergic), Phenylephrine (decongestant), Sodium Citrate (mucolytic), and Menthol (organic compound). Chlorpheniramine maleate belongs to the class of antihistamines (anti-allergic drugs) that works by blocking the action of histamine, a substance responsible for causing allergic reactions. It also provides temporary relief from sneezing, watery and itchy eyes, and runny nose caused by hay fever and other upper respiratory allergies. Phenylephrine is a decongestant that works by contracting and narrowing the blood vessels. It is a vasoconstrictor (narrows blood vessels) and is used as a cardiotonic (favourable effect on the heart) agent. Sodium Citrate is a 'mucolytic agent' that makes sputum less viscous and easier to cough out. Menthol is an organic compound that produces a cooling sensation and relieves throat irritation.

Take Sinarest-AF Syrup 60 ml with or without food as advised by your doctor. Some people may experience nausea, vomiting, headache, and sleepiness. Most of these side effects of Sinarest-AF Syrup 60 ml do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

If you are allergic to Sinarest-AF Syrup 60 ml or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you have high blood pressure, diabetes, glaucoma, chronic bronchitis, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), heart disorders, stomach ulcers, overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism), enlarged prostate gland, epilepsy, pheochromocytoma (tumour in the adrenal glands), kidney, liver, and urinary problems, please inform your doctor before taking Sinarest-AF Syrup 60 ml. If you are pregnant or planning to conceive, it is advised to tell your doctor before taking Sinarest-AF Syrup 60 ml. Do not use Sinarest-AF Syrup 60 ml in breastfeeding mothers without a doctor's advice as it may be excreted into breast milk and cause harm to the baby.
