About Sirolon-16 Tablet

Sirolon-16 Tablet belongs to the class of steroid or corticosteroid medicine. Corticosteroids and anabolic steroids are not the same. Sirolon-16 Tablet is one of the most commonly prescribed medicine treating various medical conditions such as allergies, joint inflammation (arthritis), breathing problems (e.g., asthma), certain blood disorders, collagen diseases (e.g., lupus), certain eye diseases (e.g., keratitis), cancer (e.g., leukaemia), endocrine problems (e.g., adrenocortical insufficiency), intestinal problems (e.g., ulcerative colitis), swelling due to certain conditions, or skin conditions (e.g., psoriasis). It relieves the release of substances that causes inflammation (redness and swelling) and allergies. Besides this, it also prescribes preventing organ rejection after a transplant.

Sirolon-16 Tablet contains Methylprednisolone. It plays a vital role in treating a wide range of allergic reactions and inflammation in the body, including allergies, blood disorders, skin diseases, infections, and certain cancers, and preventing organ rejection after a transplant. It also dampens the immune system, which may aid with autoimmune disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis, where the immune system incorrectly attacks its tissues.

Sirolon-16 Tablet is taken as advised by the doctor. Your dose will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. In some cases, you may experience weight gain, indigestion, problems sleeping (insomnia), restlessness, mild mood changes and sweating. Most of these side effects of Sirolon-16 Tablet do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor.

Tablet: Swallow it as a whole with water; do not crush, break or chew it.Dispersible Tablet: Check the label for directions before use. Disperse the tablet in the prescribed amount of water and swallow the contents. Do not crush, chew or swallow as a whole.Oral Suspension/Syrup/Oral drops: Shake the bottle well before use. Check the label for directions and take Sirolon-16 Tablet in doses as prescribed by your doctor with the help of a measuring cup/dropper provided by the pack.

You should not take Sirolon-16 Tablet if you are allergic to steroids, Methylprednisolone, or any components present in Sirolon-16 Tablet . Check with your doctor if you're pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking other prescribed or non-prescribed medicines. Let your doctor know if you are with an underactive thyroid gland (hypothyroidism), liver disease or kidney failure or have had seizures, myasthenia gravis (muscle weakness), tuberculosis or have ever been treated for tuberculosis, GI disorders, Heart disorders, Blood disorders (Had, have blood clots),  mood swings or psychotic tendencies, adrenal gland disorders, scleroderma (systemic sclerosis, an autoimmune disease). Sirolon-16 Tablet can cause dizziness, visual problems, and weariness. If you have such symptoms, do not drive or operate machinery. When using Sirolon-16 Tablet , exercise extreme caution. Make sure that children and teenagers get their height checked by a doctor on a regular basis so that any changes in their growth can be detected early.

Co-administration of Methylphenidate with Iohexol may increase the risk or severity of seizure (a sudden, violent, uncontrollable contraction of a group of muscles).

However, if you experience loss of appetite, headache, nausea, vomiting, lethargy (very tired), irritability, difficulty concentrating, weakness, unsteadiness, memory impairment, confusion, muscle spasm, decreased urination, and/or sudden weight gain, contact a doctor immediately as these may be symptoms of water intoxication (water poisoning) and hyponatremia (low levels of salt in the blood), Contact a doctor immediately. Taking Moxifloxacin and Sirolon-16 Tablet together can cause tendinitis (inflammation of the thick fibrous cords that attach muscle to bone) and tendon rupture (injury to the soft tissue that connect muscle to bone).

Co-administration of Moxifloxacin with Sirolon-16 Tablet can result in an interaction, but it can be taken if a doctor has advised it. If you have any symptoms like pain, swelling, or difficulty moving, it's important to contact a doctor right away. Do not discontinue any medications without consulting a doctor.
How does the drug interact with Sirolon-16 Tablet:
Taking Sirolon-16 Tablet with ritonavir may significantly increase the blood levels of Sirolon-16 Tablet.
