About Snorab-DSR Capsule
Snorab-DSR Capsule belongs to a group of medicines called gastrointestinal agents used to treat acidity, heartburn, gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD), Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, nausea, vomiting, the fullness of stomach, bloating, gas, helicobacter pylori infection, gastric and duodenal ulcers. Acidity occurs when the gastric glands produce more stomach acid required for digestion.
Snorab-DSR Capsule is a combination of two drugs: Rabeprazole sodium (proton pump inhibitor) and Domperidone (a dopamine antagonist). Rabeprazole sodium works by blocking the action of an enzyme called gastric proton pump, which is responsible for the production of acid. Domperidone works by increasing the movements and contractions of the stomach muscle. Together, Snorab-DSR Capsule helps in treating acidity-related problems.
Take Snorab-DSR Capsule 30-60minutes prior to food. Depending on your medical condition, you are advised to take Snorab-DSR Capsule for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you. Sometimes, you may experience common side effects such as dry mouth, stomach pain, diarrhoea, headache, and flatulence. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.
Inform your doctor before taking Snorab-DSR Capsule if you have a history of gastrointestinal bleeding or intestinal obstruction. Talk to your doctor before taking Snorab-DSR Capsule if you have osteoporosis as Snorab-DSR Capsule may increase the risk of bone fractures on long-term treatment. Consult your doctor before taking Snorab-DSR Capsule if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Snorab-DSR Capsule may cause dizziness, so drive only if you are alert. Snorab-DSR Capsule should not be given to children as safety has not been established. Keep your doctor informed about your health condition and medicines to rule out any side effects.

Diarrhoea might be a side-effect of Snorab-DSR Capsule . Drink enough fluids and eat fibre-rich food if you experience diarrhoea. Consult your doctor if you experience excessive diarrhoea or if you find blood in your stools.
Avoid lying down immediately after meals to prevent acid reflux. Raise the head of the bed 10-20cm by putting a pillow so that the head and chest are above the waist. This helps in preventing acid reflux.
Dry mouth could be a side-effect of Snorab-DSR Capsule . Limiting caffeine intake, avoiding smoking and mouthwashes containing alcohol, drinking water regularly, and chewing sugar-free gum/candy might help stimulate saliva and thereby prevent drying of the mouth.
Snorab-DSR Capsule contains domperidone which helps in treating nausea and vomiting by increasing the movements and contractions of stomach muscle.

Disease/Condition Glossary
Acidity: The stomach is usually protected from acid by a mucous layer. In some cases, the mucous layer gets eroded due to excess acid production, which leads to complications like GERD, heartburn, peptic/gastric ulcers and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) occurs when stomach acid frequently flows back into the food pipe (oesophagus). This backflow (acid reflux) irritates the food pipe and causes heartburn. Symptoms include heartburn, a sour or bitter taste, and difficulty swallowing. Gastric ulcers are sores that develop on the stomach and intestine lining due to erosion of the stomach's protective lining. Symptoms include nausea, changes in appetite, bloody or dark stools, unexplained weight loss, vomiting, and indigestion. Zollinger-Ellison syndrome is characterised by the formation of tumours in the upper part of the small intestine, which leads to excess acid production. Symptoms include bloating, burping, weight loss, loss of appetite, nausea, and vomiting.
