Softeron-Z Capsule belongs to a class of 'nutritional supplements,' primarily used to treat iron deficiency anaemia. Iron deficiency occurs mainly due to poor diet, poor absorption of food or increased folate use in the body (during pregnancy). Anaemia is a condition in which the body does not have enough red blood cells to carry the adequate oxygen required to various body tissues.
Softeron-Z Capsule contains Folic acid, Copper, Docusate Sodium, Iron, and Dried yeast. Iron and folic acid work by boosting the production of red blood cells (RBC) in the body. Folic acid also prevents miscarriage and neural tube defects in infants when used by pregnant women. Docusate Sodium is a stool softener that prevents constipation, a common side effect of iron supplements. Copper supports the immune system and helps in the production of RBC.
Your doctor will decide the dosage based on your medical condition. In some cases, Softeron-Z Capsule may cause side effects like stomach upset, nausea, vomiting, bloating/gas, and diarrhoea. These side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if these side effects persist longer, please consult your doctor.

Softeron-Z Capsule is a nutritional supplement that works by boosting the production of red blood cells (RBC) in the body. Thus it treats iron deficiency associated with anaemia.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is time for the next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose and follow your usual dosage. Do not double the dose.
Antacids may interfere with the absorption of iron. Hence, taking Softeron-Z Capsule two hours before or four hours after taking antacids is advised.
Folate deficiency occurs when your body lacks adequate folic acid/folate levels. You can overcome this deficiency by including food sources rich in folic acid like broccoli, brussels sprouts, leafy green vegetables, cabbage, kale, spring greens, spinach, peas, chickpeas, kidney beans, and breakfast cereals fortified with folic acid. If your folic acid levels are still low, your doctor may suggest its supplements.
It is important to tell your doctor if you have malabsorption syndrome (difficulty absorbing nutrition from food) since it may be hard to absorb vitamins through oral administration. Your doctor may advise on other dosage forms in such a case.
