SOLVIN COLD DROPS belongs to the group of medicines called cough and cold preparations used to treat the common cold symptoms and allergy. The common cold is a respiratory illness that affects the nose and throat. It is mostly caused by a virus known as rhinovirus. An allergy occurs when your body is attacked or invaded by allergy-causing agents known as allergens.

SOLVIN COLD DROPS contains Ambroxol, Chlorpheniramine, Paracetamol and Phenylephrine. Ambroxol works by thinning and loosening phlegm (mucus) in the lungs, windpipe and nasal passage. Chlorpheniramine blocks the action of histamine, a substance responsible for causing allergic reactions. Paracetamol works by inhibiting the production of chemical messengers known as prostaglandins that are responsible for pain and fever. Phenylephrine works by narrowing the blood vessels and provides relief from nasal congestion.  Together, SOLVIN COLD DROPS helps in providing relief from cold symptoms and allergies.

Take SOLVIN COLD DROPS as prescribed. You are advised to take SOLVIN COLD DROPS for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you depending on your medical condition. You may experience certain common side-effects such as nausea, vomiting, headache, stomach upset and dizziness in some cases. Most of these side-effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side-effects persistently.

SOLVIN COLD DROPS contains paracetamol, do not take any other medicines containing paracetamol along with SOLVIN COLD DROPS unless prescribed. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. SOLVIN COLD DROPS may cause drowsiness, so drive only if you are alert. SOLVIN COLD DROPS should be given to children only if prescribed by the doctor. Avoid consuming alcohol with SOLVIN COLD DROPS as it could lead to increased drowsiness. Keep your doctor informed about your health condition and medicines to rule out any unpleasant side-effects.

Do not take SOLVIN COLD DROPS if you are allergic to any of its contents, if you have taken MAO inhibitors in the last 14days. Inform your doctor if you have glaucoma, enlarged prostate, blockage in the stomach or intestines, asthma, COPD, epilepsy, overactive thyroid, pheochromocytoma (tumour of the adrenal gland), diabetes, heart, kidney or liver problems. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. SOLVIN COLD DROPS may cause drowsiness, so drive only if you are alert. Consult a doctor before giving SOLVIN COLD DROPS to children. Avoid consuming alcohol with SOLVIN COLD DROPS as it could lead to increased drowsiness. SOLVIN COLD DROPS contains paracetamol, do not take any other medicines containing paracetamol along with SOLVIN COLD DROPS unless prescribed. If your condition does not improve despite taking SOLVIN COLD DROPS for a week or if your symptoms worsen, consult a doctor.
