About SRIDERM 5GM OINTMENT

SRIDERM 5GM OINTMENT is a combination medicine used to treat bacterial and fungal skin infections. It may also be indicated in eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis, and nail infections. Bacterial skin infection occurs when bacteria enter the body through broken skin. Fungal skin infection is a disease in which a fungus attacks the tissue and causes infection.

SRIDERM 5GM OINTMENT contains Beclomethasone (steroid), Miconazole (anti-fungal), and Neomycin (antibiotic). Miconazole works by preventing the formation of fungal protective covering and stops fungal growth. Beclomethasone works by inhibiting the release of chemical messengers that cause inflammation and redness. Neomycin inhibits bacterial protein synthesis and kills bacteria. Together, SRIDERM 5GM OINTMENT helps in treating skin infections.

In some cases, SRIDERM 5GM OINTMENT may cause side effects such as a burning sensation, irritation, and itching at the site of application. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if the side effects persist or worsen.

Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not use SRIDERM 5GM OINTMENT in more than prescribed doses or on a large area of skin for a longer duration. Avoid wrapping or covering the treated area with a bandage unless advised by your doctor. Do not use SRIDERM 5GM OINTMENT if you are allergic to any of its components. Inform your doctor if you have/had acne, rosacea (small, red, pus-filled bumps on the face), perioral dermatitis (inflammation of the skin around the mouth), genital or perianal pruritus, herpes simplex, vaccinia, varicella, kidney or liver disease. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Avoid wrapping or covering the treated area with a bandage unless advised by your doctor.

Diet & Lifestyle Advise

Do not scratch the affected area of the skin, as it can spread the infection to other body parts.
Avoid sharing towels, combs, bedsheets, shoes or socks with others.
Wash your bed sheets and towels regularly.
Avoiding getting in contact with harsh soaps, detergents and rough fabrics.
Avoid the consumption of foods with excess sugar, as it may flare up inflammation.
Include fruits, vegetables, whole grains, healthy fats and fish in your diet.
Reducing stress and maintaining a good sleep cycle would be helpful.
