Strone 200 mg Injection belongs to the class of medicines known as hormones. It is used to maintain early pregnancy in cases of documented history of repeated miscarriages due to luteal phase defect and in selected cases as an adjunct to successful infertility treatment with techniques such as in vitro fertilisation (IVF) or gamete intra-fallopian transfer (GIFT) to facilitate uterine implantation of the fertilised ovum. In cases of secondary amenorrhoea (paused or missed periods), it can also be used as a progesterone withdrawal test to assess oestrogen priming. Furthermore, it can treat threatening abortions and dysfunctional uterine haemorrhages.
