Tanacidal Solution belongs to the group of medicines called anti-fungal agents used to treat fungal skin infections like athlete's foot, jock itch, and ringworm. Fungal infection is a skin disease in which a fungus attacks the tissue and causes infection.
 
Tanacidal Solution contains Tolnaftate, which works by stopping the growth of fungi that cause skin infections. Thereby, it helps treat fungal skin infections.
 
In some cases, Tanacidal Solution may cause side effects such as irritation or itching at the site of application. Most of these side effects may not require medical attention and resolve gradually over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, consult a doctor.

Do not use Tanacidal Solution if you are allergic to any of its components. Tanacidal Solution is for external use only; do not swallow it. Inform the doctor if you have nail or scalp infections. Avoid contact with mouth, nose and eyes. Consult the doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not use coverings such as dressing, bandages, or make-up after applying Tanacidal Solution unless told by the doctor. Let the doctor know if you are taking any other medicines, including supplements and herbal products.

• Regularly change your socks and wash your feet. Avoid shoes that make your feet sweaty and hot.
• Avoid walking barefoot in wet places such as changing rooms and gym showers to prevent fungal infections.
• Do not scratch the affected area of the skin, as it can spread the infection to other body parts.
• Avoid sharing towels, combs, bedsheets, shoes or socks with others.
• Wash your bedsheets and towels regularly.
• Avoid getting in contact with harsh soaps, detergents and rough fabrics.

Wash your hands before and after using Tanacidal Solution; however, do not wash your hands if you are applying Tanacidal Solution on your hands.

Ringworm: Tinea corporis, also called ringworm, is a fungal infection of the skin.
