About Tanzol 2mg Tablet

Tanzol 2mg Tablet belongs to the class 'anabolic steroids' used in the treatment of hereditary angioedema. It is a rare genetic condition characterized by recurrent episodes of severe swelling (angioedema). The most common areas of the body to develop swelling are the limbs, face, intestinal tract and airway. Minor trauma or stress may trigger an attack, but swelling often occurs without a known trigger.

Tanzol 2mg Tablet contains stanozolol, a synthetic anabolic steroid (a man-made steroid similar to the naturally occurring steroid testosterone). Tanzol 2mg Tablet works by reducing the release of a chemical called bradykinin (a peptide that promotes inflammation), which is responsible for the breaking and leakage of blood vessels. This damage to blood vessels leads to sudden accumulation of fluids below the skin, causing swelling (edema) as well as redness. In this way, Tanzol 2mg Tablet blocks the action of bradykinin and treats angioedema.

You are advised to take Tanzol 2mg Tablet for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience some common side effects like swelling of legs, ankle swelling, and feet swelling, edema (swelling), breast enlargement, and insomnia (difficulty in sleeping). Most of these side effects of Tanzol 2mg Tablet do not require any medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, stop the medicine and consult your doctor.

Please tell your doctor if you are allergic to Tanzol 2mg Tablet or any other medicines. Tanzol 2mg Tablet is not recommended for pre-menopausal women and children. Please consult a doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding before taking Tanzol 2mg Tablet . The elderly should use Tanzol 2mg Tablet with caution due to the high risk of adverse effects. If you have kidney, liver or heart problems, high cholesterol levels in the blood, diabetes or blood disorders, inform your doctor before taking Tanzol 2mg Tablet .
