About Torq-SR 4 Capsule

Torq-SR 4 Capsule belongs to a class of medications known as antimuscarinic (muscarinic receptor blockers). Torq-SR 4 Capsule is used for overactive bladder syndrome (it is a condition in which the bladder contracts muscles uncontrollably and urgent need to urinate, causing frequent urination and inability to control urination).

Torq-SR 4 Capsule contains tolteradone. Torq-SR 4 Capsule works by relaxing the urinary bladder muscles and prevents urgent, frequent, or uncontrolled urination.

Take Torq-SR 4 Capsule as prescribed by your doctor. Depending on your medical conditions, you are advised to take Torq-SR 4 Capsule for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you. You may experience dryness in the mouth, headache, constipation, sleepiness, dizziness, blurred vision, and dry skin. Most of these side effects of Torq-SR 4 Capsule do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor.

Before starting Torq-SR 4 Capsule , please inform your doctor if you have any allergies, glaucoma (increased pressure in the eye that may cause vision loss), urinary retention (inability to empty your bladder completely or at all), or gastric retention (slow emptying of your stomach). Do not take this Torq-SR 4 Capsule if you have liver, kidney, heart problems or constipation. Immediately contact your doctor if you are pregnant and breastfeeding.

Side effects of Torq-SR 4 Capsule
Here are the steps to Dry Mouth (xerostomia) caused by medication:
  • Inform your doctor about dry mouth symptoms. They may adjust your medication regimen or prescribe additional medications to manage symptoms.
  • Drink plenty of water throughout the day to help keep your mouth moist and alleviate dry mouth symptoms.
  • Chew sugar-free gum or candies to increase saliva production and keep your mouth moisturized.
  • Use saliva substitutes, such as mouthwashes or sprays, only if your doctor advises them to help moisturize your mouth and alleviate dry mouth symptoms.
  • Avoid consuming smoking, alcohol, spicy or acidic foods, and other irritants that may aggravate dry mouth symptoms.
  • Schedule regular dental check-ups to keep track of your oral health and handle any dry mouth issues as they arise.
  • Keep your skin clean by gently washing your face two times daily and after sweating. Choose a mild and non-abrasive cleanser.
  • Use gentle alcohol-free skin care products. Avoid products that might irritate your skin such as exfoliants, astringents and toners.
  • Acne may also occur due to oil in the hair. Thus, if you have oily hair, shampoo more frequently than you do now and keep your hair away from face.
  • Keep your hands off your face as touching face throughout the day might worsen acne. Also, do not pick, squeeze or pop acne as it will prolong the healing process and increase the risk of dark spots and scarring.
  • Avoid tanning by applying a broad spectrum sunscreen and wearing sun-protective clothing when outdoors.
Managing Medication-Triggered UTIs: A Comprehensive Approach:
  • Inform your doctor about the medication you're taking and the UTI symptoms you're experiencing.
  • Your doctor may adjust your medication regimen or consider alternative medications or dosages that may reduce the risk of UTIs.
  • Drink plenty of water (at least 8-10 glasses a day) to help flush out bacteria. Avoid sugary drinks and caffeine, which can exacerbate UTI symptoms.
  • Urinate when you feel the need rather than holding it in. This can help prevent bacterial growth and reduce the risk of UTIs.
  • Consider cranberry supplements: Cranberry supplements may help prevent UTIs by preventing bacterial adhesion.
  • Monitor UTI symptoms and report any changes to your doctor.
  • If antibiotics are prescribed, take them as directed and complete the full course.
  • Get plenty of rest and sleep.
  • Keep your body warm.
  • Drink plenty of fluids to stay hydrated.
  • Avoid strenuous activities.
  • Maintain good hygiene to prevent flu from spreading.
Here are the steps to manage Joint Pain caused by medication usage:
  • Please inform your doctor about joint pain symptoms, as they may adjust your medication regimen or prescribe additional medications to manage symptoms.
  • Your doctor may prescribe common pain relievers if necessary to treat joint discomfort.
  • Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is key to relieving joint discomfort. Regular exercise, such as low-impact sports like walking, cycling, or swimming, should be combined with a well-balanced diet. Aim for 7-8 hours of sleep per night to assist your body in repairing and rebuilding tissue.
  • Applying heat or cold packs to the affected joint can help reduce pain and inflammation.
  • Please track when joint pain occurs and any factors that may trigger it, and share this information with your doctor to help manage symptoms.
  • If your joint pain is severe or prolonged, consult a doctor to rule out any underlying disorders that may require treatment.
Dealing with Medication-Induced Headache:
  • Hydrate your body: Drink enough water to prevent dehydration and headaches.
  • Calm Your Mind: Deep breathing and meditation can help you relax and relieve stress.
  • Rest and Recharge: Sleep for 7-8 hours to reduce headache triggers.
  • Take rest: lie down in a quiet, dark environment.
  • Cold or warm compresses can help reduce tension.
  • Stay Upright: Maintain good posture to keep symptoms from getting worse.
  • To treat headaches naturally, try acupuncture or massage therapy.
  • Over-the-counter pain relievers include acetaminophen and ibuprofen.
  • Prescription Assistance: Speak with your doctor about more substantial drug alternatives.
  • Severe Headaches: Seek emergency medical assistance for sudden, severe headaches.
  • Frequent Headaches: If you get reoccurring headaches, consult your doctor.
  • Headaches with Symptoms: Seek medical attention if your headaches include fever, disorientation, or weakness.
  • Avoid driving or operating machinery or activities that require high focus until you know how the medication affects you.
  • Maintain a fixed sleeping schedule, create a relaxing bedtime routine and ensure your sleeping space is comfortable to maximize your sleep quality.
  • Limit alcohol and caffeine as these may worsen drowsiness and disturb sleep patterns.
  • Drink plenty of water as it helps with alertness and keeps you hydrated and for overall well-being.
  • Moderate physical activity can improve energy levels, but avoid intense workouts right before bedtime.

Disease/Condition Glossary

Overactive bladder syndrome: Overactive bladder syndrome may lead to a common and sudden need to urinate that may be difficult to control. You may feel like you want to pass urine many times during the night and day and may also experience accidental loss of urine. Although it is common among older adults, an overactive bladder is not a normal part of ageing. It might not be easy to talk about your symptoms, but if they disturb you or interrupt your life, inform your doctor.
