About Tromycetin 1gm Injection
Tromycetin 1gm Injection belongs to the group of medicines called antibiotics used to treat severe bacterial infections such as meningitis and typhoid. It should only be used when other antibiotics are not suitable. Bacterial infections are caused due to the multiplication of harmful bacteria inside or on the body. Tromycetin 1gm Injection does not work against infections caused by viruses, including colds and flu.
Tromycetin 1gm Injection contains ‘Chloramphenicol’ that works by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins which are necessary for vital bacterial functions. Thus, kills the bacteria and helps in treating infection. Tromycetin 1gm Injection is a broad-spectrum antibiotic which is active against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.
In some cases, you may experience common side effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, dry mouth and headache. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if the side effects persist or worsen.
Do not use Tromycetin 1gm Injection if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Tromycetin 1gm Injection is safe for children if prescribed by a doctor; the dose and duration may vary depending on the child’s weight and the severity of the infection. Inform your doctor about all the medicines you are taking and your health condition to rule out any unpleasant side effects/interaction
