Valera M 1000 Tablet 15's belongs to the group of medications called 'antidiabetic agents' used as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycaemic control in adult patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. This medication improves glycaemic control in diabetic patients who do not react well to metformin alone. Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a chronic or life-long condition in which blood sugar or glucose levels rise more than normal.
Valera M 1000 Tablet 15's is a combination of two medicines: Metformin and Evogliptin. Metformin acts by decreasing liver glucose production and intestinal glucose uptake. On the other side, Evogliptin works by increasing insulin release from the pancreas and decreasing the hormones that raise blood sugar levels. This reduces the fasting and post-meal sugar levels. Thereby, Valera M 1000 Tablet 15's reduces sugar levels in the body.
Take Valera M 1000 Tablet 15's as prescribed. You are advised to take Valera M 1000 Tablet 15's for as long as your doctor has advised. In some cases, Valera M 1000 Tablet 15's may cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, headache, stomach ache, respiratory infection, and indigestion. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, consult your doctor.
Do not take Valera M 1000 Tablet 15's if you are allergic to any of its contents. Valera M 1000 Tablet 15's may cause lactic acidosis (accumulation of lactic acid in the blood), which requires immediate medical attention. The risk increases if you are previously diagnosed with kidney or liver diseases. Do not consume alcohol (risk of lactic acidosis) or fast for prolonged periods (risk of hypoglycaemia). Also, inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.

Drug-Drug Interactions: Valera M 1000 Tablet 15's may have interaction with antibiotic medicines (e.g. clarithromycin), steroid medicines ( e.g. prednisolone), diuretics medicines (e.g. furosemide), medicines to treat heart problems and high blood pressure (e.g. enalapril, perindopril), hormones (e.g. testosterone, oestrogen and progesterone) and other diabetes medicines.
