About Volga R 0.3/0.5 Tablet
Volga R 0.3/0.5 Tablet is a combination drug that belongs to the anti-diabetic class. It is primarily used to treat Type 2 diabetes. Type 2 diabetes is a common condition that causes the level of glucose (sugar) in the blood to become too high. It's a lifelong condition that can affect your everyday life. You may need to change your diet, take medicines and have regular check-ups to lead a normal life.
Volga R 0.3/0.5 Tablet is composed of two medicines, namely Repaglinide and voglibose. Repaglinide increases the amount of insulin released by the pancreas by stimulating the pancreas to release insulin to your body and helps regulate the amount of glucose (sugar) in the blood. Voglibose helps control the amount of glucose (sugars) in the blood by inhibiting the intestinal enzyme (alpha-glucosidase) and delaying the digestion and absorption of carbohydrates in the intestine. Altogether, they prevent blood sugar from rising very high after meals.
Take this medication orally with or without food as directed by your doctor, usually once daily in the morning. The dosage is based on your medical condition and response to treatment. Use this medication regularly to get the most benefit from it. To help you remember, take it at the same time each day. Tell your doctor if your condition does not improve or worsens (if your blood sugar is too high or too low). In some cases, you may experience common side effects, such as Hypoglycaemia, Allergy/ Skin Reactions, Stomach Pain, Diarrhoea, Abdominal Pain, Heartburn, Nausea, and Vomiting. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.
Before taking this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to Repaglinide and voglibose; or have other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems. Volga R 0.3/0.5 Tablet should not be stopped even if you feel better, without consulting your doctor as your sugar level keeps changing. If you stop taking Volga R 0.3/0.5 Tablet abruptly, it may increase your sugar levels which could further increase the risk of eyesight loss (retinopathy), kidney (nephropathy), and nerve damage (neuropathy). Volga R 0.3/0.5 Tablet should not be taken if you have type 1 diabetes mellitus or severe kidney or liver disease. During pregnancy/lactation, this medication should be used only when needed. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
