About ZINCODERM G CREAM

ZINCODERM G CREAM is a combination medication that belongs to the group of medicines called antibiotics and corticosteroids. ZINCODERM G CREAM is primarily used to treat skin infections (psoriasis, dermatitis, eczema, allergies, rash) caused by bacteria. This medicine effectively decreases swelling, itching and redness of the skin. Bacterial skin infection occurs when bacteria enter the body through broken skin.

ZINCODERM G CREAM contains three different medications: Gentamicin, Clobetasol and Zinc sulfate. Gentamicin is an antibiotic that works by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins required to survive the bacteria. Clobetasol is a steroid medicine that inhibits the release of chemical messengers that cause inflammation and redness. Zinc is an important mineral that helps maintain the skin's health. Zinc helps to heal the infection. Together, ZINCODERM G CREAM helps in treating skin infections.

ZINCODERM G CREAM is for external use only. Take a pea-sized amount onto your finger, apply it directly onto the affected area, and gently massage it. If ZINCODERM G CREAM comes in contact with eyes, nose or mouth, rinse with water immediately. Depending on your medical condition, you are advised to use ZINCODERM G CREAM for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you. In some cases, you may experience common side effects such as skin peeling, dryness, burning sensation, irritation, stinging sensation, itching and redness at the application site. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Consult your doctor before using ZINCODERM G CREAM if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not use ZINCODERM G CREAM in more than prescribed doses or on a large area of skin for a longer duration, as it may cause adverse effects. Keep your doctor informed about your health condition and all the medicines you take before taking ZINCODERM G CREAM to rule out any side effects.

Directions for Use

Gel/Cream/Ointment: ZINCODERM G CREAM is only for external use. Take a small amount of ZINCODERM G CREAM on the fingertip and apply it as a thin layer on the clean and dry affected area as prescribed by your doctor. Avoid contact of the ZINCODERM G CREAM with the nose or eyes. In case of accidental contact with these areas, rinse with water thoroughly. Wash your hands before and after using ZINCODERM G CREAM if your hands are not the affected area to prevent the spread of infection.

To treat your condition effectually, continue using ZINCODERM G CREAM for as long as your doctor has prescribed it. Do not use ZINCODERM G CREAM if you have a skin reaction or irritation to any steroid medicine. Do not wrap or cover the treated area with a bandage unless your doctor advises. Do not apply ZINCODERM G CREAM on children’s skin unless prescribed by the doctor. Apply the medication carefully if you use it on the eyelids or near the eyes, as there is a risk of cataracts or glaucoma if the drug enters the eye frequently. ZINCODERM G CREAM can penetrate the skin easily and may cause skin thinning because of repeated application. So, apply it carefully when using it on broken or damaged skin and large surface areas of the skin. Inform your doctor immediately if you experience vision problems or other abnormal signs. Do not use ZINCODERM G CREAM simultaneously as other creams or ointments such as a moisturiser. Wait at least 30 minutes between using clobetasol and any other product.

  • Eat foods rich in quercetin (a flavonoid), such as apples, cherries, broccoli, spinach and blueberries.
  • Consuming food rich in probiotics helps in developing the immune system against allergies.
  • Limit food intake that might trigger allergies, such as dairy products, soy, eggs and nuts.
  • Avoid consuming foods with excess sugar, as it may flare up inflammation.
  • Include fruits, vegetables, whole grains, healthy fats and fish in your diet.
  • Reducing stress and maintaining a good sleep cycle would be helpful.
  • Avoiding getting in contact with harsh soaps, detergents and rough fabrics.

You will start noticing improvement within in few days of using ZINCODERM G CREAM. However, you should use it for up to 4 weeks to get complete improvement.

ZINCODERM G CREAM is not used to treat diaper rash as using ZINCODERM G CREAM under the child’s nappy enables ZINCODERM G CREAM to pass through the skin easily and cause adverse effects. However, please consult a doctor before using ZINCODERM G CREAM in children.

You are recommended to cover the treated area of your skin with bandages or dressings only if your doctor advises; it may increase the risk of side effects.

ZINCODERM G CREAM is not recommended to treat acne as it may worsen the condition. ZINCODERM G CREAM is only used to reduce itching, swelling, and redness caused due to certain skin infections. However, please consult a doctor before using the ZINCODERM G CREAM.

You are recommended to use ZINCODERM G CREAM for as long as your doctor has prescribed it. However, if the condition persists or worsens after 2 to 4 weeks of treatment with ZINCODERM G CREAM, please consult a doctor.

You are not recommended to stop using ZINCODERM G CREAM without consulting your doctor to worsen the condition or cause recurring infection. Therefore, take ZINCODERM G CREAM for as long as your doctor has prescribed it, and if you experience any difficulty while taking ZINCODERM G CREAM, please consult your doctor.
