ZINCODERM M CREAM 15GM is a dermatological combination medication used to reduce swelling, itching, and redness caused due to certain fungal skin infections. Fungal infection is a skin disease in which a fungus attacks the skin tissue and causes infection. Fungal infections may be contagious (spread from one person to another).
ZINCODERM M CREAM 15GM contains Clobetasol (corticosteroid), Miconazole (antifungal), and Zinc sulfate (antiseptic and astringent). Clobetasol belongs to the class of corticosteroids that works by acting inside skin cells and inhibiting the release of certain chemical messengers in the body that cause redness, itching, and swelling. When the skin reacts to any allergens, such chemicals are released normally. The fungal cell membranes are essential for their survival as they prevent the entry of unwanted substances into the cells and stop the leakage of cell contents. Miconazole works by causing holes in the fungal cell membranes and kills fungi. Zinc sulfate has anti-inflammatory properties and relieves the redness, irritation, and scars caused by acne.
ZINCODERM M CREAM 15GM is only for external use. Take a small amount of ZINCODERM M CREAM 15GM on the finger and apply it as a thin layer on the clean and dry affected area. Avoid contact of ZINCODERM M CREAM 15GM with nose, ears, mouth, or eyes. In case ZINCODERM M CREAM 15GM comes in contact with these areas accidentally, rinse with water thoroughly. Some people may experience dry skin, itching, irritation, redness, or burning sensation at the application site. Most of these side effects of ZINCODERM M CREAM 15GM do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.
If you are known to be allergic to ZINCODERM M CREAM 15GM or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant or a nursing mother, it is advised to consult a doctor before using ZINCODERM M CREAM 15GM. Do not use ZINCODERM M CREAM 15GM in more than prescribed doses or for prolonged periods as it may cause adverse effects. Do not wrap or cover the treated area with bandages unless your doctor advises. Avoid using ZINCODERM M CREAM 15GM for more than five days in children and on the face. Do not apply ZINCODERM M CREAM 15GM to broken skin or cuts. Do not swallow ZINCODERM M CREAM 15GM. In case of accidental swallowing, contact a nearby poison control centre or consult a doctor immediately.
