Bacterial infections are caused due to the multiplication of harmful bacteria inside or on the body. Infectious or harmful bacteria can make you sick and reproduce quickly in your body. These harmful bacteria produce chemicals known as toxins, which can damage tissue and make you sick. ZOSTUM INJECTION 0.5GM does not work against infections caused by the virus, including cold and flu.
ZOSTUM INJECTION 0.5GM is a combination of two antibiotics, namely: Cefoperazone (cephalosporin antibiotic) and sulbactam (beta-lactamase inhibitor). Cefoperazone works by preventing the formation of bacterial cell covering, which is necessary for their survival. Thereby, kills the bacteria. On the other hand, sulbactam works by decreasing bacterial resistance and enhancing the activity of cefoperazone against the bacteria. Together, ZOSTUM INJECTION 0.5GM helps to treat bacterial infections.
