About Zybron Oral Drops

Zybron Oral Drops is a cough suppressant medicine. It is used to treat cough. It helps provides relief from cough associated with mucus, chest congestion, and stuffy nose caused due to common cold and flu. Coughing can be defined as the body's way of clearing irritants like allergens, mucus or smoke from the airways. Cough can be described as two types, namely: dry cough and wet cough. A dry cough is a non-productive cough that is tickly and doesn't produce any mucus. A wet cough (chesty cough) is a productive cough that produces mucous or sputum.

Zybron Oral Drops is a combination medicine containing Ambroxol (mucolytic agent), Guaiphenesin (expectorant) and Terbutaline (bronchodilators). Ambroxol works by thinning and loosening phlegm (mucus) in the lungs, windpipe, and nose and thus helps to cough out phlegm easily. Guaiphenesin increases the fluid volume in the airways and helps to remove it from the airways. Terbutaline relaxes muscles and widens the airways. Thereby Zybron Oral Drops makes breathing easier.

Zybron Oral Drops may cause certain side effects in your child, such as nausea, vomiting, headache, diarrhoea, tremors and stomach upset. These side effects do not require medical attention. However, if these side effects worsen, please consult your paediatrician. Zybron Oral Drops should be given as advised by your doctor. Do not give more than the prescribed dose of medicine to your child. Zybron Oral Drops can be given with or without food. The dose of the medicine will be decided by your paediatrician, depending on your child’s condition.

Zybron Oral Drops is intended for paediatric use only. Avoid giving Zybron Oral Drops to your child if he/she is allergic to any of the components present in the formulation. Keep your doctor informed about your child’s health condition, including his current medications and medical history, to rule out any side effects/interactions. Before administration, inform your paediatrician if your child has any liver or kidney disease.
