Alameth PN Softgel Capsule is a combination medication used in the treatment of neuropathic pain. Neuropathic pain is a chronic progressive nerve disease that causes nerve pain due to damage of sensory nerves. Symptoms include spontaneous, untriggered pain, unpleasant feeling, shooting, burning or stabbing pain, difficulty resting or sleeping and evoked pain (pain caused by events that are usually not painful). Alameth PN Softgel Capsule may be used in the treatment of diabetic neuropathy, drug-induced neuropathy, alcoholic neuropathy, and trigeminal neuralgia.

Alameth PN Softgel Capsule is a combination of four drugs: Alpha-lipoic acid (anti-oxidant), folic acid (vitamin), methylcobalamin and pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamin B6). Methylcobalamin and Pyridoxine hydrochloride help in the rejuvenation and protection of damaged nerve cells by producing a substance called myelin. Alpha-lipoic acid helps in providing a protective effect on the nerve tissues and brain. Folic acid helps in providing essential nutrients to the nerves. Together, Alameth PN Softgel Capsule helps in providing relief from neuropathic pain.

You are advised to take Alameth PN Softgel Capsule for as long as your physician has suggested it for you depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side-effects such as nausea, headache, vomiting and heartburn. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your physician if you experience these side effects persistently.

Drug-Drug Interactions: Alameth PN Softgel Capsule may have an interaction with antitumour antibiotics (daunorubicin, doxorubicin, epirubicin, idarubicin, mitoxantrone, bleomycin, adriamycin, mithramycin), anti-diabetic (insulin, metformin, glibenclamide, glyburide, tolbutamide, chlorpropamide), anti-cancer (altretamine),  alkylating agents used for cancer (cyclophosphamide, melphalan, chlorambucil) and blood thinners (warfarin, acenocoumarol, apixaban).

Drug-Food Interactions: Avoid alcohol consumption while taking Alameth PN Softgel Capsule .

Drug-Disease Interactions: Inform your physician if you have angioedema, creatine kinase elevations, peripheral oedema, malabsorption and anaemia.

• Include food rich in vitamin B and D in your diet.
• Load up on oily fish, egg yolks, spinach, broccoli, salmon and orange juice as these are natural sources of minerals and vitamins. 
• Include cayenne pepper in your diet as it can help in lowering neuropathic pain.
• Exercising regularly helps in improving overall health and combating pain. 
• Rest well, get plenty of sleep.
• Try taking a warm bath as it can be soothing.
• Avoid smoking and alcohol consumption.
• Meditation and yoga can help lower stress, decrease pain sensitivity and improve coping skills.
• Acupuncture can be helpful by stimulating pressure points.
• Using essential oils for massages can help increase circulation.

• In case you miss a dose of Alameth PN Softgel Capsule , skip it and resume when it is time for the second dose only. Do not ever take a double dose.
• It is very difficult to overdose on Alameth PN Softgel Capsule however, if you accidentally take extra doses of Alameth PN Softgel Capsule , please inform your physician or go to a hospital immediately. Some of the common symptoms of an overdose can be nausea, constipation, feeling sick, dizziness, mood changes, loss of appetite and headache.

Neuropathic Pain: Neuropathic pain is caused due to damage sensory nerves. It is caused by chronic progressive nerve disease or due to infection or injury.
